I cannot locate the 4 or 5 photos of Elvis backstage on January 14, 1973 - can anyone help me out here

They are like this one, and Col. Parker and Vernon are in some as well;

Elvis looked so healthy in those photos.

Its so sad what happened to him over the last 4 years of his life.

What a waste. :(

He really wasn't healthfully slim. He got slim for the show by crash dieting and injections of pregnant women's urine. He actually looks a little too skinny there. It would have been better if he was a little heavier but in good shape from working out and eating healthier.

Injections of pregnant women's urine? :shock:
Where did you get that info from?

My understanding is the urine story was first published in Elvis: What Happened? (New York: Ballantine Books, 1977).

Thanks Doc.

What are your thoughts on the theory that Elvis did that?

In the early and mid 70's, these so called "HCG injections" (hormone produced by the placenta) combined with a low calorie diet was the most popular weight loss program in the US.
It is still popular today, but not approved by the FDA for weight loss medication.

Are you sure it's not January 12? His hair looks too long.

I wonder why he didn't try that again before the CBS taping in 77? I really believe most of the stereotypical "fat,70's Elvis" crap, was a result of the CBS special that aired in Oct. I think that is when it really hit home for most people just how bad he looked.
