That's good. I can't believe it took Elvis all day and the whole recording session just to record that one song!

David, this is fantastic, thanks for sharing. I love the look on his face from 1:37 to 1:39, don't think I have seen that shot before.

Your posts on this site are exceptional and totally make Elvis "come back to life". I know I am not the only one who appreciates the many hours you and the other knowledgeable people post on here. Thanks to you all.

I think the session was only about 3-4 hours and from what I remember reading Elvis wasn't too happy with Chet not having all the Jords there as he specifically requested. Add to that the flight from Texas and the harrowing experience of thinking they ran out of gas in the air. He just wasn't in the mood to produce.

I thought I read somewhere the pilot was Minnie Pearl's husband.

TERRIFIC!

Talk about bringing photos to life, you certainly did.

The sequencing of the photos from the opening to end is brilliant!

"Thank you," Davide.

David, that is simply magnificent!

Your video collage shows how this date was more work than fun, and also details the intimate nature of the session. Such an elaborate ballad, yet taped without any baffles in a single room!

I love the elegant opening and closing credits. Don Craven was there that day, on assignment for Time magazine. A couple of shots ended up in a May 1956 article.

Apparently, no one was too pleased that Elvis removed his shoes during the recording.

RCA producer Steve Sholes and rep Anne Fulchino were at this session, but they're not featured in your video. Likewise, before they began, someone handed Elvis his gold record award for the 45 of "Heartbreak Hotel." It's one of the only times you see him smiling that day. Were these conscious omissions?

My vote, by the way, is that all of your historical postings go in "All Elvis."

Also, I have a spare copy of Studio B Blues (Straight To The Moon, 1994). If you need it, send me a PM.

That was excellent. Considering the lack of actual filmed footage, this is the next best thing. GREAT work!

Your post makes me really happy and sad at the same time. This sort of quality should be seen by the masses. If EPE/Sony did something for the fans before we are all too old to care it would be to employ YOU to bring us the ultimate Elvis Antholgy.

I love what you do and the way you present it to us and cherish these posts.

I salute you sir!

What is this nonsense?
Unless you can come up with some solid proof about this, the above quote is nothing but your own imagination.

The only 'nonsense' here is your uninformed reply.
