Added a new venue page with more than a few photos from May 27, 1956, mostly some by Marvin Israel that you may or may not have seen.

Re: Dayton OH 1956
Thanks, I have to wonder if his cousin will ever publish the rest of the 500 or so shots.
Re: Dayton OH 1956
I wrote the publishing company in the US,
shortly after publication of Israel's photo
journal, asking them to put me in contact
with the Israel family. I was interested to
do a follow up with the remaining photos.
Never got a reply from them. I was aware
of Israel's coverage on Elvis since the
late 70s when a fellow collector xeroxed
the pages from the 1956 Seventeen mag
that'd featured the Elvis photos by Israel,
who I believe was editor of Seventeen
as well. If I remember correctly, the text
story was reprinted in my Book "Faces
And Stages"....

Was that the October 56 issue of Seventeen? (Did you send me those pages?)TALLHAIR 2 wrote:I wrote the publishing company in the US,

Please do not thank me--- Thank Elvis for making THIS happen.
Re: Dayton OH 1956
No James, I did not sent you the Seventeen
article "Elvis Presley : Holler And Jump " by
one Edwin Miller... Could very well have been
Marvin Israel under a different name?
I lost the xeroxes somewhere along the way,
in years gone by. The text is reproduced in
my book "Faces And Stages" ( 1986).
If you want to add it to your page I gladly
make copies and mail them to you...?
Or ( unlikely) someone might be able to
scan the pages and post them here....?

Re: Dayton OH 1956
That would be cool. I've tried locating a copy of the October 56 Seventeen, but no luck. Thanks,TALLHAIR 2 wrote:No James, I did not sent you the Seventeen

Re: Dayton OH 1956
It's a deal, James.
Reproduced in the book is only the text.
The original xeroxes, dating back to the 70s,
weren't good enough qualitywise for reprinting,
so I had the text story re-typeset.
I dont have the date of the publication. But the
story and photos originated from Israel's visit
to Dayton at the time...

Re: Dayton OH 1956
Cool. That'll work. I guestimated it was the October issue because that was the first issue I know of after the Dayton gig that they did an Elvis write up.
Re: Dayton OH 1956
the 'Seventeen' magazine photocopies are in
the mail to you. Ive also included a review from
Lubbock Avalanche Journal, april 12, 1956:
"Presley Creates Musical Storm Here".
Again, not from the newspaper xeroxes I
had.... It had to be re-typeset for Faces and
Stages, due to its poor reproduction quality,
back in 85. Haven't checked your other pages
for a while, but I hope it's of use?
Keep up the great work James.

PS: checked your Lubbock page, and you already
have used info from the newspaper article dated
april 12, 56.
O well, no big deal. And it gave me a chance to
view the Lubbock page once more. Damn, you're
good, J !

Re: Dayton OH 1956
Cool, I'll add that when it gets here. I'll check over the Lubbock article too and see if I can just append it too.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
