James -- it could be that "Radio, Television and Recording Star of the Louisiana Hayride" was a standard blurb tacked onto the ad. Or it might mean something more.
This November 12, 1955 Saturday afternoon show would be one of his last as a SUN artist.
His final, abortive SUN session -- looking for a B-side to a possible sixth single, with "Trying To Get To You" as the lead track -- had just happened, but the takes of "When It Rains, It Really Pours" would not be issued in his lifetime. That night, he played the Louisiana Hayride under his upgraded contract terms -- $200 per appearance!
And he'd just spent the last two days in Nashville at the Country Music Disc Jockey Convention, and told everyone of his impending RCA deal. It would be completed in three day's time.
And the rest ... is history!
