Thank you very much, great candid!!! :D
But i think this is the correct date:
November 06, 1960 - Elvis departed from Memphis to Hollywood for pre-production on 20th Century Fox' Wild in the Country.

Dee' face looks like it was smacked in by a bit of four by two! To translate aussie slang to our overseas visitors, four by two (4 x 2) = timber! smt136

That 'Blues Bros' look.

Is Elvis aping a known style ?

These Elvis photos precede the film by nearly 20 years !

I was just wondering where Elvis got the idea from.

If it was simply his own fashion, they might have based the film style on his look.

Or the film might be aping the same source that Elvis did.

Anybody know ?

No, not at all.

See Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi (New York: Simon & Schuster, 1984), Bob Woodward's biography of John Belushi for more.

He looks like he could be a member of the Great British Ska group Madness !!!

Actually, there was an article in one of the tabloids in the late '70's early '80's which said that Elvis had anticipated the Madness look 20 years before the fact !

Thanks, Dan.

That's the sort of info I was after.

So the chronology is:

Elvis

Madness/2 Tone

Blues Bros

But where did Elvis get the idea ?

Chicago gangsters ?

New York pimps ?

Diamond Joe ?
