After all those years, this sad story now has two names and (pretty) faces.

Thanks for the pics, funky. I don't recall ever having seen photos of the people who were killed. Quite chilling to see these images.

Brother, I thought the same thing when I first saw the article ie. not recalling ever seeing the photo's of the deceased! Anyway, I hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Sincerely !

Hovarter just couldn't catch a break...

I remember that sad day when these two girls were killed, it was awful. All that amidst the chaos as 200,000 people converged at Graceland after hearing the news that their hero had died.

That is very possible, Vissie. These things do make the rounds, and I might have seen it before, too. If so, it's been a while, because I couldn't tell you what the girls looked like prior to seeing funky's post.

Thanks KH ;) If I come across it again, I'll be sure to share it here.

Ironically, Hovarter was orphaned in 1965 when her parents were killed in an automobile accident

Sad...

A reply from Alice sister in the News Star:

Surviving sister: research praised

This is in regard to your article in the Aug. 16 edition about Elvis Presley's death.
I am the sister of Alice Hovarter. I appreciate the fact that you remembered the two local people who lost their lives at that time.

Elvis was a very public figure and is missed. But I miss my sister, and it was nice to have her remembered. The article shows that reporter Robbie Evans did his research and shows his professionalism.

Evans had the facts right about my sister, and this is to be commended.
Thank you.
