Hi

There are some chronological mistakes to correct :

Mentionning "June 14, 1959" as the date on which Elvis attended the show with Nancy Holloway at the Mouling Rouge is a common error found even on Nancy Holloway's website. But on that day (June 14th), even though Elvis was on leave since the 13th, he had some public relation event to perform in Munich, Germany, before leaving for Paris, arriving on the 15th. Likewise, a press conference (footage in b&w and recording of that event are plentiful on Internet) was organized in his hotel (Prince de Galles on George V avenue, close to the famous Champs-Elysées avenue) on the 17th of June.

The very same night (June 17th), he went to the Moulin Rouge and met Nancy Holloway apparently twice (during intermission and after the show, since she, like performers often do during a show, changed her dress or wore, backstage, a large négligé over it, as seen on the photos).

I discard the hypothesis that these photo sessions were on two separate days ; on the photos, everybody else have the same clothes, check with André Pousse's neck tie. Only the various printing processes may seem to fade Elvis' black suit to gray.

Likewise, very often, famous singer and movie star Line Renaud likes to say that she had the good fortune of having Elvis' visit on his 25th birthday (January 8th 1960), also backstage at the Casino de Paris where he met again the Golden Gate Quartet he admired. But it was a few days later (on the 12th), because, on the 8th, he was doing an important interview in Germany, precisely on the occasion of his birthday.

Finally, it is often believed that his third and last stay in Paris ended on January 17th, but he left on the 20th, since he had an entire week long session of japanese martial art. Reports of the exact details of his departure, in Gare de l'Est train station, are found on Internet.

Thanks for the comments. It seems Elvis and his pals got on the train for Paris on 6-15-1959 (Mon), after he did an interview with Hannelore Kran at the Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich. I'm OK moving the date to June 17 for most of the Moulin Rouge photos. I do think Elvis saw the show more than once, and Nancy Holloway is wearing a different outfit in each of the last two images I posted in my OP on page 1.

Elvis had a 25th birthday party in Germany on 1-08-1960 (Fri), with music by George Young and guests including friend Priscilla Beaulieu, plus a live phone interview with DJ and promoter Dick Clark in the U.S., so Line Renaud is indeed incorrect on that date. And Elvis did leave Paris by train on 1-20-1960 (Wed), around 10:05 p.m. from Gare de l’Est station.

Thanks again.

As I mentionned in an other topic on this same forum, the accounting sheet of the leave permits reveals some contradictions with Elvis sightings during his military leaves. It may be that the leave record is simply inaccurate.

For instance, Elvis's leave in early July (3rd to 5th) 1959 is entirely unaccounted for.

It seems also that there were "last minute" extensions : for instance, in 1959, he is on leave since March 2nd but, while on leave, he is granted 3 more days, extending it to March 8th, 24:00, as shown on the request for absence form.

Maybe some of these extensions just escaped the scrutiny of the leave record accountant.

Illustrating that point, the signature of an accompanying member of his entourage in Paris, Joe Esposito, is found on a hotel (Prince de Galles) document (order, bill, etc.) in Paris on January 18th 1960, when, according to the military record, the leave was supposed to take end as of the 17th... ! Which would be consistent with the fact that, during his January 1960 leave "The 25th birthday leave", spent mostly in Paris where he arrived late on Tuesday January 12th, he enrolled in a series of 5 karate lessons with a reknown japanese master. One can assume that they were daily lessons on weekdays, that is 13 14 15, skip the weekend, 18 and 19, leaving on Wed. the 20th where he is officially spotted by journalists of Paris Match, boarding his train at 10:05 PM. The photos are marked Jan. 20 and the idea that this could be the date of their laboratory development has been discarded.

Hi !!!! I found this note dE-Cat

As reported, it is in effect January 18, 1960 at the Station The east (East Station) in Paris.
East station all trains to
direction is starting.
To be more precise, Evis used the side entrance after being deposited on the rue du Faubourg -Saint- Martin,
just after 22 hours.
I know because he left a map of Paris (Paris Casino) in the car that I had the chance to get
in 1985 the taxi driver.
He was supposed to take Elvis until 09:15, but they have not left the hotel before 9:45 The route is normally
15-20 minutes,
he's going fast for DROPP off at 10.00 in time (train left at 22:05). They are mounted
the train within minutes.
