I've always liked this image -- it first appeared in the neat booklet included with Elvis - A Legendary Performer, Vol. 1 (RCA, 1974).

As Elvis is standing in front of publicity for "Live A Little, Love A Little," released to theaters in October 1968, it is likely taken in Los Angeles between November and December 1968, near the end -- or just after completion -- of "The Trouble With Girls."

This is what he looked like when he watched the NBC-TV broadcast of his TV special on December 3. That's one pretty cool dude, my friends.

Could it be the same time he did some publicity shots one of which ended up on the cover of Suspicious Minds. Looks like the same jacket.

Good call -- and it fits the time frame, Elvis' last studio portrait sessions were done at that time.
