Glad to see it finally made it's way home and did not go into the hands of a private collector.

HEY!!

Just what exactly is wrong w/ private collectors owning critical pieces?!?!

(wink!)

Considering the history of this particular item, it truly deserved to be returned to Graceland. I will also go so far as to state, I'm sure that was also the unexpressed goal of certain collectors - seeing as how they couldn't have it for themselves ..... they'd much rather see it back at Graceland if it couldn't be in their own hands instead.

Not sure if your serious with the question N8, but just in case that you are, in my opinion I certainly understand why Private Collectors want what they want and have what they have.

However it's a catch 22, let's use Chris Davidson as a example or Jimmy Velvet & Paul Licther, these three were private collectors as we all know, the nice thing about two of them, Davidson & Velvet was they were in a position to share with the public what they had in Elvis items which was nice.

Ironically in Chris Davidson's case most of what he had on display went back to EPE, with respect to Jimmy Velvet, alot of what he had has ended up in private hands where No one gets to see what's there, just like some of the Licther collection.

Hanna as some of know, now owns some of what was in these private collections, unlikely any of the public will get to see what he has anytime soon.

But we will live I'm sure  It is what it is, but it would be nice to see what is there.

Another negative of a private collector owning some of these precious items, is how they take care of the items, in the case of the Hollywood Casino in Tunica, it's always been great to see what they have acquired, but out side looking in it doesn't appear they make a huge effort in keeping what they have in good shape, for example the one suit out of the two they own has been in the front lobby of their Hotel for over 10 years now, the suit color has faded because of the lighting conditions and they paid over a Hundred Grand for that suit.

Anyway, now more than ever because of the expansion we will see with EPE in Memphis, Las Vegas and other parts of the world in the near future the more they have to show the better it is for us all in the long run.

That's why I personally am just as happy just to have copies of suits and some of the jewelry, tho at the same time , yes, I can certainly understand One having the desire to own something which Elvis Presley owned himself and to have it in One's collection if you can afford, but I tell you what even it I could afford it I would rather see EPE have it, but that's just me.

You're powers of perception are truly limited.

(Spoken like a true "Insider" ......... JMO)

You really do give yourself (and/or others) too much credit on this.

Besides, ...... trust me, there's nothing being shared w "Insider's" that isn't going to be shared w/ all the fandom - sooner or later. It's not only part of EPE's plan, but it's also the very nature of the kinds of people that comprise the "Insider's."

If it makes some people feel better being "officially inside", more power to you. I think the term is oxymoronic, in this case w/ EPE; IMO you're just being officially milked.

The "Insider's", after all, is all about feeling S-P-E-C-I-A-L.

For the record, I was just messing around PEP.

I do appreciate your thoughts, however.

Thanks.

I don't know why you are going of on a tagent N880EP and you are totally off course. I'll tell you about the INSIDERS shall I?

It's a load of BO***CKS !

I'm 100% against it BUT last year while visiting Memphis I worked out that it would be worth joining just to get the discounts while I was there, so I bought it to save money. I'll be back again in just over a week and I'll be getting my discount again (so that X 2 and worth it) but only items I HAVE to buy from EPE e.g. a tour, the jumpsuit all access book and anything else that I can ONLY get from EPE.
If I need anything else and it is available elsewhere i.e. Blvd Souvenirs I would rather give them my money than EPE any day!
Trust me I do not intend to spend a single cent more than I have to with EPE.
The insiders message board is a bit 'sappy' and weak minded and not a lot of really interesting stuff goes on in there..... it's a bit like Elvis Monthly in the mid to late 1980's........ Oooh isn't this and that nice, oh I've never heard that song before, oh wasn't Elvis lovely.
Once in a while though something interesting comes along but not THAT often

I'm not giving myself credit for anything, I just thought the one interesting post that WAS e-mailed to me from another member yesterday would add to the topic here.... sorry if it bothers you so much, lighten up man. 8)
You are correct that there is NOTHING being shared that isn't going to be shared w/ all the fandom - sooner or later.

Hey and did you know that if you have someone else's log in number and password you can get in there for FREE    :D

Officially milked, who me? NO CHANCE BROTHER, NO CHANCE
