I am TOTALLY fascinated with this subject of finding Elvis' old haunts! I hope people in America, like KHoots, has the same passion, because once it gets pulled down, then that is it my good friend! Cheers!

I definitely have a passion for that kind of thing, too. I have plenty of shots of empty parking lots, fields and those kinds of former Elvis haunts. Yeah, it's strange, but hey, it's what I do.

I too love to see "then and now" pictures.

Very interesting stuff.

I used to live just a few minutes from the area where they filmed much of Roustabout in Thousand Oaks California. I'd often drive my car or motorcycle through the exact spot where Elvis was run off the road on his motorcycle, and kick back on a lazy day just a few hundred yards away from there in the fields where they filmed the carnival scenes. It's a beautiful area and has been used for hundreds of films, photo shoots and commercials.

It's weird you should mention this, as I was sitting down at our local cafe this morning thinking about this guy telling us about that on a message board! hi funkyangel, I may have mentioned here it a loooooong time ago, can't remember, lol. Somewhere I think I do still have some pics taken in that area. I'll try and round them up and post them.

If you're ever in the Los Angeles area, Thousand Oaks is only a 45 minute or so drive to the north (depending on traffic of course).

Now I live in Las Vegas and sadly, most of the locations used in Elvis's movies filmed here are either gone or have changed to the point where you wouldn't recognize it anyways. It is really cool however to go into the showroom at the Hilton and remember all the Elvis history that has taken place in there. I went in again about a week ago and it still gives me goosebumps.

By the way, thanks for starting this interesting topic, I enjoy reading up about these things too.
