About the first photo.
The time was 8:33 p.m.
The place was out in Hollywood. Nick Adams had introduced Elvis to Natalie Woods and they often went to the movies or to movie premieres. I believe this is from one of the latter.

No Steve, if you look closely you can see the reflection of the photographers watch on Natalie's shiny dress just where it crosses in the middle

No honestly, I have a "slightly" better version of the pic (and before you beg me to share, sorry, guys, I can't) and you can see Nick's watch in the photo.

Yeah Steve, I count on you to keep asking 8)

Wow, that's a tough question. How many 1956 photos that have been published?

Just look at all the great books we have stuffed with photos entirely from 1956. All Ger's books from down in Florida and Memphis, Wertheimer's books covering the week around Steve Allen and July 4th show, the FTD-book Flashback, Marvin Israel's book on the last days of May 1956, Kricun's book on the photo-shoot out in Hollywood. These are just the ones that comes to mind.

I'd say there's at least a minimum of 5,000 photographs from 1956 that have been published. I also believe that there's are at least 5,000 more that has not yet been seen by the public eyes.

And I do mean minimum. Probably the number is much larger.

Well Steve, I wouldn't doubt if Wertheimer actually did take around 3000 photos of Elvis.

Remember he shot Elvis at three occasions, Dorsey shows on February 4 and March 17 and then we have the week from June 29 thru July 4.

The first time around he probably didn't shoot more than 3-4 rolls of film. With Elvis getting more and more popular with each Dorsey show he might have used at least 2-3 times the amount of rolls in March and then he followed Elvis for an entire week at the very peek of his career. Rehearsing for the Steve Allen show, on his way to Richmond, all day in Richmond, on his way back to N.Y. dress-rehearsal for Allen show, the actual Allen show, in the studio on July 2, all way from N.Y. to Memphis on the train, at Audubon Drive and finally at the show at Russwood Park on July 4.

No Steve, I don't think the number of Wertheimer photos is too far fetched from reality. You also have to keep in mind that a real big number of these photographs might not be of such quality that they're fit for publishing.
