Ger: Those were two tickets for the Elvis convention '68, De Montfort Hall, Leicester, 21st July 1968 and the photos were taken in June 1968.

Am I correct?

... thats fast, Mike!

Yes, youre absolutely right. Were you there?! ... For whatever reason,

I saved my ticket, #770, all these years. While searching for certain

photographs, this morning, it popped up! And a while later Funky

posts these photos... kooool ! I remember delivering newspapers

during that first half of 68, saving money for the trip to England...

... The reason I wanted to go there so badly was because they

showed King Creole on the large screen. Had never seen it before.

... Met a nice English girl that day, who invited me to stay over

at her parents house for a few days. I would meet her again, in

front of Graceland some 12 years later. She worked as a stewardes,

and had become part of the 'inner circle'... at that time she was

dating Ed Parker... life is full of surprises!

... pm me, and thanks for joining in!

No Ger, I wasn't there (I would have been 6 at the time!), but that photo brings back unhappy memories, I'm afraid to say, as a few years ago I was bidding for those self same tickets!!

Unfortunately I was outbid on the day, purely because I was saving my funds for another Elvis owned item coming later in the auction. Imagine my disappointment when I was also outbid on this as well. Like I said... not a good day.

However, if the current owner is reading this and ever decides to part with them, I would welcome the opportunity to have first offer.

Will PM you as advised

I can understand me being left out, but why you Tony?

I dared make a smart remark in a thread regarding some of the adjectives he uses to describe Elvis. I guess he didn't like it...lol

Life does move on I suppose, albeit it is hard.

Say, I wonder if after having our good author join this forum and letting us know exactly what he thinks about Elvis if it will increase his book sales? One would think so.

... and just how many books of mine did you ever buy, Gypsy?

Ive only been a fan since 1957, published more than 20 books

on my own expense... does that make me a good enough fan

for you?

Sun Nov 26, 2006 7:06 pm

That makes exemplary fan for ME, but I think in this world nobody gets credit for what he/she has done. Not me, not Tallhair, nobody. But you should remember that Elvis fans over the world maybe have read what you have write. Like I have Tallhair's book in here little town in Finland.

What I'm talking about? I don't know.

Careful Tony, there's not enough room for both of us in Ger's doghouse!

None, although I hear they have some nice photo's. Still one can only own so many coffee table companions. (and feel free to call me Tony if you would like)

Seems good enough for me! As a matter of fact I don't recall ever saying you was not a fan. My statement was... that you have been such a good ambassador for Elvis on this forum it could only help you sell more units. Which would be a good thing, wouldn't you concur?

Have a good day Mr. Tallhair AKA Ger Rijff.
