WOW! What a great shot -- taken near the end of Sep '56, when Elvis was back home, getting ready for his Tupelo Benefit shows on the 26th.

Without Marion and Sam, we wouldn't be talking about Elvis in 2006.

Where did you find this?

Great shots!
Thanks for posting them. That's apparantly the wall in the front office before they cut a door in it to get to the staircase and coffe shop. Of all the pix I've taken at Sun I don't think I have any of that wall.
Who's gold records would you think those would be on the wall, Carl's, Johnnys?

A very happy and upbeat image.

It's always nice to know that Elvis didn't forget the people who were there for him in the beginning.

Wow is right!! Great shots.

Doc noted these we're taken in Sept. 1956 - 50 years ago this month!!

Then just 3 months later Elvis would be back at Sun (Dec 4) to join in a recording session (jam session) which would be known as the Million Dollar Quartet.

Will the above pics be included in the forthcoming Sun book/CD project on FTD?

... Some [all?] appeared in an Elvis photobook, covering 50s and

later, not so long ago. Ive seen the ad in the back of a fanmag.

It was published by a known US fan/ collector who also have

released dvds with concert footage from the 70s. Sorry, cant think

up his name right now. I dont think they will be part of the Sun book,

as Ernst already have too many from 54/55 to fit them all in!

Great pics Rich/Funky !

I know she did lots of interviews, but did Marion ever write a book or an article ?

She should have !

Sam only seemed to have a vague recollection of those early Sun days !

The 7 photos posted by thefunkyangel are on pages 114-115 of the FTD Flashback book published in 2004.

On the next page there's a colour photo of Elvis at rehearsal for the 2nd Ed Sullivan show and he's wearing the same shirt as in these pics.
