It's hard to believe that no recordings have surfaced in the thirty years since Presley stumbled/ mumbled his way through his gig at the Hofheinz Pavilion! What is even more interesting that it was only an afternoon performance! Follow the link below to see Presley after the matinee gig!

What else do we know about this moment in time, most notably the 28th of August '76!? I'm sure by now that everyone has heard JD Sumner' recollection of that day, but is that it?! It's also strange to think that they're not too many photos in circulation of the actual performance! I'm led to believe that photo below is one, but I can't prove it! Anyway, Houston '76, thirty years on . . . .

The concert venue that afternoon was the Summit, not the Hofheinz Pavilion..

We've had many discussions about this concert..
BMG has a soundboard recording, it will probably be unreleased forever :(
Elvis was still on sleep medication during the show, but managed to pull off a great version of America.. Also there were some sound problems.

Still, part of the loyal Houston audience screamed and was happy to see Elvis, and when Elvis finally woke up, he was already boarding the Lisa Marie! 8)

17000 fans and only two or three pictures from this show?
Strange

In the photograph, you can clearly see that Charlie is telling Jerry, "I hope he doesn't fall off of the stage before he introduces me."
