50 years on - Funny How Time Slips Away . . . Jacksonville, Florida
The tour through Florida represented the last time Presley was on the east coast without starring in a motion - picture! After completing six shows in two days (10/11th) at the Florida Theatre, it was then on to New Orleans http://www.elvis-collectors.com/candid-central/neworleans56.html (for three shows at the Municipal Auditorium) and Hollywood, via Tupelo! Elvis did not tour Florida again, for another fourteen years!

... The color shots are from the Jimmy Velvet collection. Thats him,

the young bloke, posing with Elvis. The other guy, pictured with Elvis,

had a solo trumpet act, as part of the pre Elvis Show. One Joe...

something. Baby, thats rock n roll ! Ofcourse, things improved

a lot, in the 70s, when one Jackie Kahane bored audiences with his

pubic hair in my soap jokes... 6 bleeding nights in a row, we had to

sit thru Kahanes poor jokes... 6 nights! [ Vegas, dec 76]
