Post here your Elvis' pictures

Better than making love...

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:08 am

Well I got your attention with that title, didn't I? 8) Well that's how Elvis described doing live apperances.

And live photos are always difficult for me to date - unless I already have one photo from the same concert dated it is almost impossibble. So I decided to post some of my undated photos here for some help.

If you can't help on the dating problem, then just these photos of the "only atomic powered singer"

... Of today, I can view the pix posted here, once again.

But I wont be back that often. Its frikkin frustrating to see at least

50% being ripped off directly from the pages, of at least 3 of my

booktitles! How I know? I have the original photographers prints.

Dont feel like coming back here.

dvds, cds , photos... everything is copied these days...

Thu Jul 13, 2006 5:50 pm

I'm sorry you feel like that Ger!

I know that it is frustrating to see that your photos are copied but at least you have the originals in perfect condition as opposed to the often bad quality photos that are copied and posted everywhere.

I felt quite bad after releasing my book The Atomic Powered Singer and 6 months later a well-known US writer put out his own book including ALL my 1956 dates that I had used 8 years on finding. Well, maybe he did the same research and found the same dates as I did.

However, NO ONE can take away from me that it was I who found all those NEVER-BEFORE-WRITTEN-ABOUT dates and it was MY research that led to RCA changing the recording date of I Want You, I Need You, I Love You from April 11, 1956 to April 14, 1956.

Today, I don't care whether that US writer used my dates or if he himself actually did do a lot of research.

I must admit that if I see a great photo on the internet I use right-click on it. Just as I believe most other fans do. And I seldom write on the photos who own the copyright so if I post one of the pix here I won't be able to give credit to whom it belongs. I guess we'll have to take the bad with the good in these days with internet.

Your photos (and my dates) will probably be copied and reposted in many years ahead but I've made a lot of new friends via this board and I wouldn't miss it for the sake of the research I did. I love to share my photos (the ones I CAN share) as well as the little knowledge I have about Elvis.

I sincerely hope, my friend, that you'll reconsider, and stay on this board. Your comments are, at least from me, deeply appreciated.

Sincerely
Brian

From the first batch:

#3 (50live0093rb.jpg) -- possibly November 22-25, 1956

#12 (redjacket2wl.jpg) -- image is reversed

What great photos of the guy who changed the world!

Note to Ger -- I have (virtually) all of your books, and if any are available that feature the pictures above, it is certain someone on this MB will buy them!

... Wrong, Doc!

On a regular basis, dealers, who have backstock, are mentioned

on several topics here. They hardly ever get orders in. Most fans,

rather drool over pix from his final years. Its always been that

way, and it always will be.

Im signing off here.

Please see my suggestion on the "4th of July, 1956" topic. Why don't we take an informal poll here? In fact, I'll do it next.
