Elvis appears on the Dance Party at 5 p.m. where he is interviewed by Wink Martindale. They speak about Elvis' upcoming July 4th show at Russwood Park and Elvis says that he give his EP initial ring away as a door-prize.

This promotional visit is seen in This Is Elvis -- or Elvis '56, can't recall -- and it's hilarious how "cool" and almost surly he comes off, chewing his gum in a most prominent manner.
Fifty years later, you still see Wink Martindale on TV every now and then.

I uploded a clip of this to Megaupload. Enjoy!!
I would like to upload some backstage photos, but unfortunetly I don't have the time as I'm going to Stockholm in a few hours. But maybe next week, unless somebody beats me to it.
Have a good weekend everyone!!

Thanks for sharing the video Little Sister .... really enjoyed watching it..
does anybody know who got the diamond ring??

Yep, the happy recipient of Elvis' $600 initial ring was 17-year-old Roger Fakes, 219 Rose Road, a recent graduate of East High.
I even got a photo from the presentation in my book. I'll try and post it later (if I remember) but now I gotta hit the bed for some sleep before I take my family to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria for a one-week vacation tomorrow.

GREAT pictures Little Sister
Here's a couple more from the same date. Well, just one more actually... the second pic is the same as one that you posted, but without the watermark.

What a hot cat! So generous of him to donate the initial ring, even though it might have been Parker's idea. Anyone? Also didn't Wink write a book? And did I read somewhere that color pictures of this appearance exist?
Thanks for the upload LS. Stockholm is a great city.

Thanks J... I had actually posted your photo too, but for some reason the link didn't work. Although your seemed a lot more cleaned up, but here is mine together with one more photo from this date. Courtesy of Stacy
Melani - I would love to see a color photo from this date. He looks so concervative when you see his photos in black and white, but I am sure he was wearing some flashy color.
Also, thanks, yes Stockholm is a great city. And I got to go to the archipelago this time too, a first. It was really beauitful!! But now I am back in Dalecarlia to celebrate midsummer... Very Swedish!!
