I don't think so, funky. I believe the image is correct, in that we're seeing the "bodyguard end" of the house, and not the music room end.

Joern, #4 is from August 12, 1957 at Graceland instead of April 1957.

Those last three pix of Elvis in close encounter of the third kind with his female fans are all reversed.
Here are three more from same show:

The riot took place at one of Elvis' afternoon shows in Miami on August 4, 1956. Elvis lost his jacket during the riot and after the show he cut his pants in pieces and threw them out his dressingroom window for the fans standing below.

Are you the guy who wrote this book ?

Yes Elvis67, I believe I'll have to plead guilty on the charge of having written that book. And it makes me both proud and glad that you rate is as one of your best books.

really I was very impressed .....I'm not really into the 50's, I have so many elvis books but with this one I learned a lot about 1956 and I really appreciate the details , the rare pictures....all in chronogical order
You really made an incredible job
Your book reminds me of the chris brown books....made by true fans for the fans . These books are always the BEST ones . That's what your book showed. That kind of work really deserve to be in every fan's library !

Hello out there,

I've noticed that there are quite a few 'photo dating wizards' here, so I thought I could use your help with these photos.
So, does anyone know the exact dates for these? 8)

Just returned from a weeks vacation at Sunny Beach, Bulgaria and even though it 1 a.m. I just had to see what had happened here.

I agree with the Doc on the photos except from the third one. This is Elvis leaning against his first Cadillac which burned up in early JUne 1955. He's wearing a watch and ring on his left hand and I believe even a bracelet on his right hand. This would make the photo from ca March-April 1955.

Thanks for the info, Brian.

After doing some research I have to disagree with the Doc on the first of J's photos. The colour one of Elvis on his motorcycle in front of his Audubon Drive home.

As you can see in the photo the small wall with a fence atop as well as the gate is finished.

On July 4th work had not even started on this. In mid-August only the wall is finished. The fence had not been put atop the wall and the gate not installed.

Elvis is driving his red and white 1956 model KH Harley Davidson which would indicate that the photo is from prior to November 1, 1956 when he bought himself a new Harley.

As Elvis left for Hollywood mid-August and didn't return to Memphis until Sept 22 the photo is either from the last week of September 1956 or from October 15-25, 1956.

I tend to go for late September as we know Elvis was out riding his motorcycle on more than one occasion during this week. However, nothing is mentioned in the local papers of motorcycle rides during his October stay in Memphis.
