Remember, reading/ listening to Janelle crap on, how Presley broke down in front of her, sobbing how much of a bad father he thought he (Elvis) was, to Lisa Marie!? I think this may of happened on this occasion. Janelle crapped on to Presley about what he needed was a poem to give to Lisa Marie, for her birthday present!
1971 - Date Unknown ??
February 1st, 1972 ??
The above image must of been the second time Presley saw the poem, because Elvis sobbed and dropped a few tear - drops on to the paper, hence the smear marks! Maybe this occured in the 1971 coloured image! This would highly be unlikely if the poem was framed and behind glass!

Melanie, thanks for the uploads! I'll let you in on a little secret! Upload anything you damn well want! For you see, you just never know, because one man'/ woman' trash is another man'/ woman' treasure! There is always going to be hidden gems amongst them!
Take for example the December 28th 1970 - original wire report! That image is common, but now you have uploaded/ proven that the image is actually Presley leaving a building, as you can clearly see grass/ lawn at the right hand side of the picture!!
I always assumed the image was internal, not external! Melanie, you have completely shattered the myth! Congratulatuions . . . remember what I said about the trash/ treasure!! Keep uploading !

thefunkyangel, the first and the third picture are not from 1971 but from 1973/1974. The two-piece suit he's wearing in the picture is a corduroy suit and he did start wearing it in the second half of 1972. The necklace however indicates it must be the second half of 1973 or the beginning of 1974.
Fourteen years right down the drain, man, I'm tellin' ya!

Wondering if the woman is Carol Wayne:
Alternatively, Carol Wayne also had a look-alike sister named Nina Wayne
(who may be wearing a wig in this shot):
Carol Wayne was married for a time to rock photographer Barry Feinstein.
If you wish to check on identities you can possibly contact Mr. Feinstein via his website

I only just read your comments. I guess now my second name could be myth buster. Just kidding. But it's great that I was able to provide a piece of the puzzle. So you thought the photo (cropped) had been taken inside the church? On a related note that wall looks unfinished.thefunkyangel wrote:Melanie, thanks for the uploads! Re: Uploading. I get most of the photos from eBay and I am always assuming all of you here scan through there as well, so is there really a need for me to upload? Also the same old comments like "He looks great" and "awesome pictures" get kind of repetitive after a while. Of course he looks stunning most of the time, but is that all there is to it? I for one love to really look at the images. Not just one second, focus on Elvis and next. For that it is too thrilling to see a photo I have never seen before. Just when I think they get rare, there is a bunch more that are all new to me. So I pay attention to the background, the clothes, reactions of other people in view, other oddities. And that it my main motivation for uploading. Not the thanks, but because I love to share my thoughts and read substantial and fun comments combined with trivia added by the experts.

Melanie!
It's always nice to have several people uploading pix. And even though a lot of us browse through Ebay we might find a pic that we don't think is rare because we have it in our files. But then someone else uploads the pic and a lot of fans here haven't seen the pic before.
So keep uploading them pix.
Here's an alternate I just found on Ebay. Some of you might have it but I don't think it was posted here before.
Sincerely
Brian

When I was a child I was a dreamer,
I read comic books and I was the hero of the comic book
And I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie
So every dream I´ve ever dreamed has come true a hundred times.
