First of all, I would like to thank funkyangel, bripet56, little sister and the rest of the gang for the great pics on this forum. It's a learning experience.

Jove: That first photo isn't the only one from that day. I have seen at least two more pictures, by a pool. These might have been taken shortly after he got his black belt?


This is probably one of the earliest Karate photos.
Jürgen Seydel (Bad Nauheim/Germany) introduced him to Master Murakami in Paris, France.

To answer the question of the two pics from the 70's in the first post. I' m pretty sure they were taken during the summer of 1973. I believe it's from around the time that Elvis gave Kang Rhee a car on July 23. My guess, anyway.

Yes, they are from July 1973 - he looks so much better one year later in the July 4, 1974 photos...

God damn, there is great pictures, I must say, keep them coming! Two never before seen karate pics, and those 69 press conference pics flooding was great too.

Those early 60's karate images clearly show that Presley in/directly had his belt colour, changed to black!

The last on stage karate moves must have been in Philadelphia'77..
But during the ending of Polk salad.. he seemed to be in pain..

No. I read somewhere that he lost interest sometime in 1975. There´s a picture of Elvis in a karate suit sitting together with Linda Thompson fr o m 1975 (perhaps in a jet). Haven´t seen him dressed for karate after that.
