Der Elviswagon! one rare set of wheels indeed for Elvis in Germany. A little over 250 units produced of this BMW 507 roadster between it's 1957 to 59 production run. The just under $10,000 was pretty hefty sticker too in 1959 for a sports car. Fit for a King.

What I've thought interesting about this car was after the service stint and it's shipped home Elvis hung on to it for a while. Then in 1963 he meets Ursula Andress while filming Fun in Acapulco and gives her the BMW. I read some time ago they didn't care for each other. Regardless, she got the car and kept it for 20 years!! Someone talked her out of it in 1983 or so and it vanished only to show up once again in 1997 at the Berrett Jackson auto auction. With a asking price of $300,000 folks were shocked when it actually sold for $350,000. Wonder what Ursula sold it for?

Actually the 507 was Elvis' 2nd BMW. Dec of 1957 he purchased a BMW Isetta for the Colonel as a Christmas present. A small one cylinder thing that got over 60 miles to the gallon.Just under $1000.00 Wonder where that went?

That last photo is a fake. I've just PM'd the Doc about it and he confirmed that in the original picture the woman was actually holding a pound of wet tripe - not flowers.

You'll have to get up early in the morning to put one over on me, Italian Job, because I get up very early and if you got up earlier than me then it would probably be a waste of time you going to bed in the first place.

Italian! That's actually two different Isetta's in your top row. The one on the left was one Elvis had for himself in the summer of 1957. He had bought it sometime prior to late June 1957. It was a white BMW Isetta 300

The second pic is the one he bought for Col. Parker in December 1957.

What gave it away was the hands / knuckles around the steering wheel, don't go all around the steering wheel and; the Elvis behind the wheel was none other then Glenn Tyler, from the movie, Wild In The Country!

Glenn Tyler? Early ETA perhaps? Knuckles around steering wheel? There are no hands visible in car. Decal in window might give illusion of hand. I like the tripe theory best. Ebay listing straight ahead..
