A real nice photo from down in Biloxi on July 14, 1956. The guy on the left is Capt. Bull Thornton.
I met Eddie Bellman, who arranged for this deep-sea-fishing trip, back in 1991 and got a chance to see his private footage from that summer.

Real nice guy.

Brian

Wow, thanks for dating that one for us Brian!! :D Do you know the dates on any of the other Biloxi-photos?

This one seems to be taken on a different day. Is the date known? Also, is that June's mom standing to the left?

Here are some more rare shots from his time in Biloxi

Hey Stacy, do you still have you Elvis and June-site up? I can't seem to remember the URL... :( But I do remember how great it was!! :D

You' re welcome Little Sister.

# 1 on the Aunt Jennie is form the first trip they made on July 12, 1956. It was after this trip that Elvis called his parents back in Memphis and had them come to Biloxi so they could come along a the trip on the 14th.

# 2, with Del Puschert. I'm not sure if indeed from Biloxi, but I'm in contact with the owner of the pic and hope to get some more info.

# 3. Elvis shaking hands with Eddie Bellman (left) and Lew Sonnier on August 1, 1956 at David's shoe store in downtown Biloxi. Bellman and Sonnier owned the store and Elvis made an appearance as a thank you to Bellman for his hospitality and everything.

# 4. At Gulf Hills Dude Ranch where Elvis was forced to move during his Biloxi-vacation to get some privacy. Don't have exact date but he stayed there from July 11 thru July 20.

Sincerely
Brian

Sorry, forgot to tell who the persons in the Aunt Jennie pic are:
standing is June's mother May with her hand on her boyfriend Eddie Bellman.
Arthur Hooten behind Elvis and Red West with white hat on. June in dotted shirt at far right. Patsy Napier and Patty Welsh on either side of Red and Junior Smith bowing his head down below May's feet.

Charlie Davis, Bill Jordan and Capt Louis (Bull) Thornton were aboard as well.

Sincerely
Brian

You can see Arthur Hooten in the background of that first picture with a German officer hat on--I think? From WWII?

They found some Nazi memorabilia on board, and they all fooled around with these hats for a while. The footage can be seen in the "Elvis And June" video, IIRC. More from this vacation is in the "Elvis In Hollywood" video. Maybe this is the film Brian saw in 1991?

That's right Doc. That's the footage Eddie Bellman showed to me back in 1991 when I visited with him down in beautiful Biloxi.
He also gave me a tour of the city and pointed out all the places Elvis had visited back in 1956. unfortunately June Juanico was out of town while I visited so we couldn't stop by to say hello.

Yes Stacy, that's Arthur Hooten you see in the first pic at far right.
Sincerely
Brian
