Actually Brian I haven't seen the picture before......but for some reason it just doesn't look right....can't really put my finger on it....almost looks like a Drawing than a picture, at the same time the body doesn't look like Elvis', alittle too bulkee...The pose looks more more like something done today than in 57'......His hands look different a little bigger, fatter and not as long....his hair doesn't look right for the period either.....the shirt also doesn't look like a type of shirt I have seen him in, plus it looks more like a shirt of today than yesterday....if that makes sense.

All in all tho still a cool picture....but kinda reminds me of this one
Real but not real...

Maybe dreamalittledream knows a little more about the picture....

Do you?

... Wunderbar, you guys & gals dont know the answer?! ... I do!!! :D

April 2, 1957, backstage The Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, in between

shows! He had changed his Gold Lame jacket for the red colored one,

while hanging around backstage, waiting for his 2nd appearance, that

evening... I have a stack of photocopies from that day... 8) Years ago,

there was talks of doing a book on 57, together with a collector/fan in

Canada. He had more than a hundred unpublished shots from Toronto

and Ottawa. Mindblowing stuff, and very artistic in feel as well...

The book never happened... I have not been able to track down either

the guy in Canada, or the photographer, in recent times. But I still

have part of the photocopies.

Wow, this is a great photo Stacy!! Thank you so much for sharing...

Here are two more photos from backstage on April 2nd. Obviously none of them are as beautiful as yours... but they show a bit more of what it was like there.

Ger - it sure would be interesting to seome of those photos that Canadian guy had, I sure hope they will get published sometime.

The picture looked too perfect....man, what a Photo !

Perfect for framing.....

... Dont have this particular shot, but the others- mostly not posed- have

the same shadowy look/ feel. A photographer with a recognizable style,

for sure. See if I can find his name, and I will get back here tomorrow.

Must comfy my kid now. Hes pooped. Ciao!

That photograph was found inside a wall in Texas somewhere--I have another that was "found" in that wall--give me one second to find the CD. I about died when it was being questioned as real! Thanks, Ger for backing it and for an answer! :) I'm happy a lot of you haven't seen it--I was hoping so, that's why I posted it. It was published in People magazine awhile ago because it was such an awesome find--I'll brb with that other picture.

And the comment about it coming from Pennsylvania, HA! Too FUNNY! I may be good at fabricating photos but I'm not that good--and I can't even draw a stick figure

I have a friend named Gail who lives in Nevada--she is the biggest Dolores Hart fan--occasionally she'll send me her "seconds", or stuff she has duplicates of or just clippings of stars she knows I love, like Connie Francis, and of course, Dolores. And that people article was one of them I have it put away--but here's the other photo from that article.

Image
Apparently, Elvis had trouble looking up around this girl...or maybe there was something on the floor that caught his eye

It's a shame the book fell through! I love the feel of that photograph--the way the light highlights his profile...just dreamy--in the real photograph in people (my scanner is CRAP) you can actually see dust particles floating in the air. It's that clear.

Dreamalittledream I meant No disrespect or
was thinking you were trying to pull a fast one.....

The picture is very unique for many reasons......

First it had not been seen by these eyes before nor by too many
other people either is my guess,

Second the pose looked almost faked too perfect, still does in
one way and by saying that I mean in a good way,

Third because of the refection of the light and the
direction of the pose it did add that sort of drawing
sort of look, it made the jacket look almost like a shirt
especially when you compare it to other
photo's as you can see in the thread

Fourth because of the pose and the uniqueness of
the photo the picture almost looks like it was done yesterday not
almost 50 years ago.....but that just shows how Timeless Elvis
really was...

Fifth once again just a very cool picture, this is one of the best
Artistic pictures I have seen in years.......

Thank You from One and All !

I will now go get my eyes checked

... Here we go... The photographers name is : John Sebert.

For a minute, last night, I considered, with your help, to try and locate

mr Sebert once again, and if lucky, get a book done on his wonderful

photographs... But, older and wiser, these days, I put that thought out

of my head quickly. Im no longer in the luxery position to invest a

minimum of 30.000 dollars in buying the publishing rights and cost of

printing 2000 books in top quality. My last book, done with Chris Giles,

2-3 years ago, sold slowely. Even though it contained many never

before seen Loving You production photos...

Sad, but true, most fans prefer the caped crusader years... "The fatter,

the better", as one fan commented once... Anyway, dont let me stop

you from trying your hands on a John Sebert project, as like some of

you out there, love to see his material between book covers!

PS Pep, Brian, Funky, a.o Im posting on this site for over a year now,

and the All Elvis forum is really going nowhere, these days... Would it

not be an idea to post rarities there, to brighten it up a little...?

I, somehow, feel, many fans dont bother to check the Picture Section,

and miss out on the real interesting topics?

Tallhair AKA Ger Rijff, for the life of me I am trying to understand what you mean by your reply! It doesn't make one bit of sense  !

... Me try best I can= why no understand me saying , funky? :D

Take- 2 : Theres an All Elvis section, and a Picture Section... Yes?

For some time now, the All Elvis Section is pretty boring... Yes?

To improve the All Elvis Section, posting some of the rarer items, as

seen here, on the Picture Section, would have made the All Elvis

section a lot more fun!... And it reaches more fans, who dont visit

the Picture Section... Me not can better trying explain, Funk. Me

a bloody forriner. Me say sorry. You dig, yes?... No? :?

Oh, I know what you mean now! The trouble was/ is, it was the FECC Admin' fault! Initially I was uploading all my rarely/ unseen images to the 'All Elvis' section, and there were a bunch of young/ old boring farts bitching about my candids not being uploading to the 'Picture Section', so Admin. bowed down to the whinging farkers and had my posts moved!
The trouble is, is those whinging farkers who complained, don't contribute sh*t to this forum!

Mon Apr 24, 2006 8:32 pm

I must admit that I feel the pictures should be posted right here where they belong. I don't visit the All Elvis section too often, and when I do I mostly just read the headlines of the posts. I seldom go in and read the posts as most of the subjects don't get me hooked.

If we start to post our rare pics in the All Elvis section then we'll (I'll) have to open up all the posts and see if they contain rare pics we (I) don't wanna miss.

I feel that the fans who don't visit the picture section can't be too interested in pictures of Elvis.

Well, that's just my thoughts.

Sincerely
Brian

Ger, you are wrong about this fan--I don't prefer that Elvis AT all...his voice, yes, his look, no. I stop looking at photos of him that are dated after 71 or so.

If I could have afforded to, I would have purchased your book, "Inside Loving You"--I also just got in the mail today Elvis Close-Up--the photo of June Stephens getting off the plane--I'm odd, because I wish there were more of her by herself! I've only flipped through it--but I love it. Though your books might not sell like hot cakes, there are people who love and treasure them. I am one of them. I'm a little late in discovering them, but I can assure you your titles on on a lot of my friends "wishlists".

If the other boards don't know what they're missin here that is their problem lol :) They will find out eventually.
