Thank you for posting this PEP, like everyone keep saying, you seem to have quite a few really rare photos on your hands. Please continue sharing them with us!
Here is one more from the same date, where he is posing with Brook Benton.

... Hi,Sis... Thats not Brook Benton. If I remember correctly, its a
singer who was also on the Sun label... Trevor Cajiao, Elvis The Man
And His Music, gave out that information, long ago, in his mag. Trevor
is an expert on Sun. But I cant remember the singers name. But its not
Brook...

Sorry Ger but Sis is quite right. That IS Brook Benton. The photo was shot by Ernest Withers who, among other things, photographed a lot of coloured singers in Memphis. The photo is on
http://www.withers.uwosh.edu/beale_music.php
and here's another pic of Brook Benton. Sure is the same guy.
Sincerely
Brian

Oh... well... then I take it back Ger!!
Thanks for the info Brian!

It is indeed Brook Benton, who later had the 1970 hit recording of "Rainy Night In Georgia," an Elvis favorite. Ger was thinking of SUN artist Roscoe Gordon -- no one's perfect!

... Ill have a talk with Trevor, later today. Yes Doc, Roscoe was the one
I had in mind. We will be back on this topic, later on... But its well possible
You all are correct, and Im very much wrong....? But Im not yet convinced...

It's OK, Ger. As soon as Trevor confirms what Brian and I have said, you can send me a copy of "The Voice of Rock and Roll" to make up for it.

... Yes, guys, You were right all along! Trevor explained,it was Colin
Escott, who had come up with the name changes, ages ago. Him being
somewhat of a Memphis music expert, it was taken as gospel, for a long
time... Sorry, Little Sister, sorry guys. Ill have my revenge, one day
Doc, when I find a copy, its yours.

Yes!!
Since no one's mentioned it, the image Brian posted is most significant as it's the only known photo of Elvis with Junior Parker (left) and Bobby Bland (right), two significant blues artists. And certainly Presley was a big fan of each, with Parker's SUN singles of "Feel So Good" and "Mystery Train" MAJOR influences on Elvis in his SUN period and beyond.
