Thanks Funky for the pix. Like that one of Elvis with Miss Fire Prevention. Don't think she was trying to put out the fire Elvis had started in the US

Did you notice Funky, that the jacket Elvis wears with Miss Fire Prevention is the same as in the pix in your upper row from May 16, 1965. So probably from around same time period.

Elvis looks so different (read: better, thinner) in those first three, it seems earlier than May '65. The girls are holding copies of the Girl Happy soundtrack for autographing -- when did that get issued? That might help date these images more accurately.

Well Doc, the Girl Happy soundtrack was pretty new in May 1965. The movie opened nationwide on April 7, 1965 and the soundtrack was released in March of that year, so I don't think we can push the pics further back.
Sue Wiegert dates the pix as May 1965 as well telling that these girls had come from out-of-town to see Elvis. They rang the bell and were told he was asleep. They were told to come back next night. Same thing happened. Elvis was asleep. The guy that answered the door saw their sad faces and told them to hang on, went back inside and shortly afterwards Elvis came out, eyes half open, hair not combed. He had gotten out of his bed to meet these girls and make their day a happy one.
Sincerely

I like these photos!
I was surprised to read that story behind the photos of MAY 1965, but that was ELVIS: loving & very human being, just to have a happy for those lovely girls
thanks

As always, thanks for the information and typically wonderful story, Brian. It's surprising the LP was issued a month
after the movie opened. And do you agree that Elvis looks much thinner and younger than other photos from May?

ehhhh Doc! Don't know about the months in the US but here in Europe March (when the LP was issued) comes just before April (when the movie premiered)
So the LP WAS issued before the movie premiered

Opps -- misread your post. I'd place the photos in March, then. The album was brand-new.
