CA '67 Candids

Does anyone have 'anything' on these 1967 Californian candids!

Sean Shaver´s The Life of Elvis Presley book says this is from "Memphis, December 1967. Elvis is in his Diamond Luster Cadillac".

Back home now and the date for that pic (many posts ago now) of Elvis in his car wearing blue sweater under his grey jacket is from September 12, 1967 in Memphis. Not from December 1967 in the Sean Shaver book. The photo is a Judy Palmer original with date on the back.

WOW Funky, that last pix is a great one. Never saw that one before.

It's funny that when he pulls his eyes to the side he looks exactly like TTWII Elvis???

Just found Sue Wiegert's book "For The Good Times" and I actually bought it way back on May 24, 1979 and it was after receiving her book that I bought my candids from her.

The story about the Chinese Thinking Cap goes that Sue had been in San Francisco visiting and had bought this for Elvis. On July 10, 1967 she presented it to Elvis. He immediately put it on his head, looked in the rearview mirror and pulled his eyes to look slanted and got tickled at himself. Later on they asked Elvis to take off his sunglasses again and do that again with his eyes so they could take a picture. Elvis pulled his eyes slanted again and said straight into the camera, "Do what again? Do this?"

The photos of Elvis wearing green shaking hands with a policeman are from his Rocca Place home in July 1967 according to Sue.

Thank you so much for posting that story. Trivia makes the photos all the more interesting. I really love those positive bits and pieces to the puzzle. Wish a publishing company would reprint her books. Anyway I was just thinking that it was so great of Elvis to take time for his fans. I think somebody once said that almost every other star would have called the police and get them to escort the stalkers from their gate. Not Elvis. He at least once even had sodas delivered to the crowd. What a class act. And all those photos posing with fans. What a phenomenal record and thanks to the internet we can all enjoy the images now, instead of them staying in a scrapbook.

Bel Air, California! Date/Year??

I have a few others from this day...good old Marty Lacker in the passenger seat. I'm going to guess '66 or '65...only by his hair though.
