Looking at the style of Elvis' hair November 1970
is the month and year i believe the picture was taken,
I found pictures prior to Nov. and his hair appeared to
be shorter, after Nov. 1970 his hair style began to change....

Anyway these are all pictures from Nov 1970....

1969 is impossible. First of all at that particular time his hair and sideburns were noticable shorter. Besides that it wasn't until halfway 1970 that Elvis started to wear shirts with Napoleonic collars. And it was not until the end of 1970 he started using canes.
Pep is seeing it the good way. His collage of pictures is exactly what I had in my mind when I saw this picture for the first time.
November 1970, period.

Didn't Elvis only use the Red Ladder Suit in Las Vegas, and maybe even only once??

That picture is also taken in November. To be exactly November 13th, Cow Palace, San Fransisco. He is using a different mike though.

Regarding the original picture which started this
thread, there just has to be a mistake from the owners.

Suggesting 69' doesn't appear to be the year....
As his hair style stayed pretty much the same
through out the year, seen in these examples,
totally different style.

when it comes to this type of hair style displayed
in the original picture, it appears from Sept to
November of 1970 Elvis kept the style and lenght of hair....

By Dec. 1970 his hair style began to change.....
it was still long but not as long......

Plus his facial features started to change within
just a few months by Jan. 71'
Elvis was starting to look different age wise....
Just a little more mature looking...
Slightly shorter hair and slightly different hair stlye
plus an extra pound or two contributed to
make this difference.

The lenght and style of Hair appaers not to have happened
prior to Sept 1970 nor continued into Dec of 70'.

So again the owners of the picture must be mistaken, plus
Leroy brings up a good point about the collar as well....

Lets hope maybe the owners are willing to investigate
this further and come up with something else that may
help them remember the correct date.

If for nothing else but to solve the mystery.....

You´re right Leroy. Coming home and going thru my photos I immediately found the pic to be from Nov 13, 1970.

That's often the problem with memory. It's never absolute. That's why I always make lists. Luckly I have very extended tour lists although some events are inbedded in my head.

This is Elvis circa 69 at the home of the then Beverly Hills police chief. One of the guys in a guitar forum I frequent posted it and gave me permission to post it for the fans. He's engaged to the girl on the left, one of the chiefs daughters. She told him that Elvis used to visit there a lot. The chief was supposedly instrumental in getting Elvis a permit to carry firearms there.

Yeah, sorry about that. When I posted it I was under the impression the owner was well aware of it. His future Fiance posted it in a guitar forum I frequent and I asked him if it was OK to share beofre I did it. He said it was and even sent the owner the link to the thread. To be safe though I posted it in a reduced size and resolution from the original for thier sake. I guess he wasn't prepared for the interest in the photo. I'm not sure what his plans are or if he has any. It might just simply be that they are momentos from a part of of his life that he wants to keep for himself and family. Oh well, its not like the world is suffering from the lack of pictures of Elvis.
