1970's car candids!

#245310

Post by thefunkyangel »

Since I have recently snow - balled myself with all things '1956', it was refreshing to see something new (well to my eyes!) in regards 1970's candids (my forte!), over on eBay! Enjoy! Cheers! Looks like the same car!

The first picture was take somewhere in the beginning of 1973. The second one during the summer of that same year.

No he's not wearing a bath robe, he's wearing one of his white karate tops. Nice pictures, thank you for sharing them.

I'm currently trying to date/ place, over 2000 undated candid ('55/ '56) images, I have in my database! Man, Presley was shot a few times in that year alone! I promise I will upload it shortly, hey man, I just work here

Thanks! I know I´ve seen a few other photos possibly taken the same day as the first one, same shirt & car. I believe Linda is sitting next to him and they stopped somewhere to buy something, there is a photo of them standing at a counter. Sounds famililar to anyone?

Here they are. I think your right, these three pictures belong together. Elvis standing at this (I believe hot dog or doughnut stand) is so common, it could only be in Memphis. I really love this pic. These pictures are from 1972 which means the first picture you posted is from that year too. Linda had dark hair then.

Great, thanks for posting them! The photo of Elvis and Linda is really nice, unusual to see him in a "normal" situation in the 70's. BTW are they buying fireworks? Looks like it to me.

Hav-A-Tampa:
You could be right about the fireworks. To be honest I never payed much attention to the kind of stand it seems to be. But after looking at it more in detail it looks like firework in the background.

You're welcome, glad to know you appriciate it.

I wonder if the vendor is still around, or has told the story of EP being there. Either way, the normal activities EP did once in awhile like stopping for a hotdog or at a gas station, always fascinates me.

If you look closely at the picture you'll see Charlie Hodge standing next to him. Maybe he took care of the costs.
