But follow th elink you'll learn more about them.. e.g. Brian explains who some of the people where. Do anyone have more photos his day on Daytona`Beach? I have a live photo... and it looks like the famous live-photo that was one the cover of the 50's box set. Is that one from Daytona Beach too?

I just found a photo on Ebay, that very well could be from August 9, 1956.

This is based soley on the fact that he is wearing the same clothes, and his hair looks the same... so not really much. Oh, one more thing. it seems to be Elvis cousin Gene Smith sitting across of him. And he is on the other Daytona Beach picture's too. So that is at least... well, something more! :D

I am enjoying my afternoon/evening trying to date and order my photofiles. I am not doing much progrress, but I am having a ball! :D

No, it was taken at LA's Shrine Auditorium on June 8, 1956.

A series of these photos were included as a "bonus" photo booklet -- erroneously called "Live In '55" -- in 1978's The Rockin' Rebel, Vol. 2 bootleg LP. Ah, those were the days.

Arghh Doc! You beat me to get the right date on the live photos, but that´s all right as long as we get it right. And, as usual, you did get it right.

Yeah, those were the days when we haunted the big cities (for me Copenhagen, Denmark) for pirate LP´s with (mostly) lousy sound. But what the heck, we were thrilled to just be able to get our hands on something like that.

Memories, ahhhhh!

Sincerely
Brian

Oh thanks!! Now I have a bunch of photos dated. Also for you that are interested. Here are a bunch of photos of Elvis backstage and onstage on his visit to LA in June of 1956. http://isd.usc.edu/buzz/pixels/elvis56/ But I have been thinking... Elvis is wearing completely different outfits on the first three photos. Do you know which one was taken on June 8 and which one one June 9?

Also, they have a few photos on their server that they are not showing on ther site. Luckily, some of as are of the snooping kind. So enjoy!! :D

Those are indeed great pics Little Sister.

There are actually photos from 3 different occasions on http://isd.usc.edu/buzz/pixels/elvis56/

The 5 pics in the middle of Elvis in all black are from Los Angeles on JUne 8, 1956.
Then we have the first and the last pic on that website. Those two are from another incident. Don´t know exactly where and when but Elvis was in the Los Angeles area for most of the first week of June 56.

The three photos below of the audience and the two upper right photos as well as the three single photos are all from the same occasion. My guess is that it COULD be Long Beach on June 7, 1956. But I´m not sure at all about that.

It wouldn´t make sense that Elvis wore three different set of clothes on the same date

Sincerely
Brian

I am still in love with these photos.

Litter Sister: Thanks for remembering it was me, who first posted the set. I don't like the credit though, as I did not take the pictures. Anyway I just checked the ol thread and the link to ImageShack seems to be broken. According to the help section "If you uploaded an image and it now shows as a red-X, it may be that the server on which your image is located is temporarily down, however this is a rare occurrence. Otherwise, your images will be available forever."

The copies that are up for sale are sharp, including four new candids.

----
The year was 1956 and a young, untamed Elvis Presley and his band was traveling through Florida on their way to play Jacksonville's Florda Theatre when they stopped at a Daytona Beach motel and had lunch at the Lakefront Seafood Restaurant. The owner of the motel had a young daughter who spotted Elvis immediately as he pulled up in his new Lincoln Continental. She quickly grabbed her camera and shot 18 frames.
----

Would be a shame if this information would get lost on eBay.
