No, that´s Arthur Hooten on the left. I believe the other one is Elvis´ cousin Gene Smith.

When I was a child I was a dreamer,
I read comic books and I was the hero of the comic book
And I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie
So every dream I´ve ever dreamed has come true a hundred times.

... RE Reading my above mail to you, sort of, comes across rather egocentric. Sorry, I enjoy your research a whole lot!

Nope Funky, that wasn´t the last time Elvis visited the Mid-South Fair.
Check into my website at http://www.brian56.dk and go to Flashback and read what the Commercial Appeal wrote about Elvis´ visit to the fair on September 29, 1956. I´ve put 4 photos on the site as well from Elvis´ visit to the Fair.
Sincerely
Brian

You meen the one where they are both dressed up as cowboys, right? I was sure I had it somewhere on my harddrive, but I can't seem to find it. But I do have one that I am pretty sure is from the Mid South Fair too... or am I wrong? Is it actually from when Elvis was still living in Tupelo, taken at the Mississippi-Alabama State Fair and Dairy Show?drjohncarpenter wrote:Great shot, another I've not seen before. The 1953 visit yielded a photo with coursin Gene as well
Also, here is one more from Elvis' 1956 visit to the the fair. You can find it in better quality on http://elvis.fan-sites.org/
Note the shoes. They are from Elvis own line of products. Pretty good PR, letting the king himself wear them. What kid, would NOT want to be seen wearing them?

Outstanding pictures! In the bottom photo, the guy with his back facing the camera and some sort of a bag over his shoulder is dressed and looks very much like EP from a side view. Any idea who that is?

It is Nick Adams. Elvis' friend from Hollywood who would accompany Elvis home to Memphis. It seems like Nick stayed with him almost the whole fall. You can also see him riding with Elvis on his Harley if you go to Brian's site http://www.brian56.dk/560929.html.
