Re: 27th May 1977 - Binghampton
Matt, I've got it dated from the day before, in the same town.
You've never walked in that man's shoes or seen things through his eyes
Or stood and watched with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies
So help your brother along the road no matter where you start
For the God that made you, made them too, these men with broken hearts
Or stood and watched with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies
So help your brother along the road no matter where you start
For the God that made you, made them too, these men with broken hearts

This photo - with lesser quality - was taken seconds after the one in the first posting.

Re: 27th May 1977 - Binghampton
Thanks Matt...., also javierTCB for picking up the apple! The shows in Binghampton were good shows, relatively speaking. If it is from the 27th it would have been the night before the last time I would see Elvis, which was the Saturday evening show on May 28.

I won't be a smart ass, but the name of the photographer is Len Leech.
Len died years ago, but his wife Rosemarie is still selling their great photo's.

I have a number of Len's pictures in my personal connection. He and Rosemary have given us fans many wonderful pictures (and memories) of Elvis over the years

Are these shots from the concert on May 26 or 27?

Re: 27th May 1977 - Binghampton
I thought the photos were taken after the second show (27), but this screen shot, from the amazing Elvis Presley In Concert website makes it clear that it was after the first show (26). Most of us read about the famous scene when the door was locked and fans started gathering. The boys were getting anxious but Elvis was cool as a cucumber
Re: 27th May 1977 - Binghampton
Thank you for the explanation. That helped me a lot to put the photos in the (probably) right order.

The look on Joe's face in that 3rd picture speaks volumes.

In the opening photo his mouth is chewing a nice, big bit of that apple, too.

Yes, I was fortunate enough to have been at all of the Philly shows in the '70s.drjohncarpenter wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 3:45 amrlj4ep wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 10:48 pmThanks Matt...., also javierTCB for picking up the apple! Is John Herman the same man who recorded the New Year's Eve show in Pittsburgh?
