That date to me would not be right , Elvis went in the Army in 1958 , March i believe . So he would have been in basic Training for about 8 week's , Then he would go for AIT ( advanced individual training ) for 6-8 week's . He would not have had time to make sergeant by then , especially a staff sergeant. Unless he was made sergeant for the day, and that could have been possible as he could have been made squad leader or barrack's sergeant perhaps .
