You know how much I love your posts, the fool, but this is the best ever.

What an astonishingly candid article containing fascinating and occasionally crucial details about Parker.

Thank you!!

You are very welcome. I was also amazed to find this kind of an article written as early as 1957. It makes me wonder whether Gladys had the chance to read this. And what her reaction to it was. And what kind of conversation she had with Elvis about this.

What an enjoyable read.Fantastic post. For years I was under the impression little was known abut The Colonel and his business practices until after Elvis' death but here we are, sussed out in 1958.It makes it even more frustrating that other agents/managers couldn't get to Elvis when they would have known how much of the pie The Colonel was getting.

It wouldn't surprize me if The Colonel made sure Gladys and Vernon were unaware of this article.7

Wow, i think i'm gonna like it here
I didn't read yet all the article, but from what i read it's one of the best about Colonel Parker (not Mr. Parker)
And another surprise for me, an alternate from August 4, 1956
Thank you very much, again :smt006

Extraordinary story! I read it today and the author describes very well even the fact that the Colonel wanted to dominate everything. How bad that Gladys didn't read it because she maybe could convince Elvis to fire him on the spot. The writer even says that Parker has a strange accent and couldn't speak correctly the "h" and "r". Only one step further was needed: to find out that Parker was Dutch and an illegal imigrant. Thanks again for posting this marvelous article.

Very interesting read. Thanks for sharing, Fool. The writer must have had good inside connections within the business as there is a lot of interesting facts. Surprised that such an detailed article was done already in 1958. Wonder did anyone write such a candid article about Colonel later during the time Elvis was still live or did Colonel become so inluential that it wasn't anymore possible.
