Elvis was voted Least Cooperative Actor (Sour Apple Award) twice (both in 1960 and 1966)
This Award was presented by the Hollywood Women's Press Club that was created by gossip columnist
Louella Parsons, who also had a daily newspaper column.

Apperantly Louella and Elvis met eachother in 1956.

This is what Louella Parsons wrote in her biography about her meeting with Elvis:

I think I have a photo of them together somewhere. Or was it a fake photo of them together? I can´t remember. I´ll see if I can find it.

I tried to find that "Open letter to Elvis Presley". Still searching. Instead, I found this in her column in the January 1957 issue of Modern Screen. On the same page there is her "Open letter to Montgomery Clift". So it must have been a regular thing she did in her columns.
