These movie magazine articles may be PR-driven, but they are usually fun and, more importantly, informative. Many names in these photos are seen for the first time. And some of the images are otherwise unknown. Thank you for sharing them on FECC.

My favorite quotes:

"Elvis Borgnine."

"Heart!"

You´re welcome.

And I agree about the PR nature of these articles. You have to read them carefully. But still, you can get new information from them. In this case, I especially enjoyed Frank Powolny´s memories of the studio photo sessions.

And talking about them, here are some photos from those photo sessions from a 1963 Mexican all-Elvis magazine I just received, Cine Album presenta Elvis. I can´t remember seeing those black&white photos before.

Man, Elvis looked like no one else in 1956.

Any idea which photos are from Tuesday, September 4 -- AKA the "fall asleep" photo session with legendary 20th Century Fox portrait specialist Frank Powolny?

I never realized that Elvis had portrait sessions with Powolny, the photographer who snapped the famous World War II swimsuit picture of Betty Grable, or the image of Marilyn that Andy Warhol would later appropriate for one of his most famous paintings.
