Thanks for the tip. :D

That magazine can be found on better newstands in the US and I will be looking for it. They really know how to recognize Elvis every year, or even season!

The latest issue is out now with a Leiber & Stoller interview also used in 'Writing for the King'.

There's also a great article on Al Wertheimer's memories of photographing Elvis.

Only a small photo of Elvis on the magazine cover.

I have particularly appreciate, in this issue, some infos i didn't come across before, about the celebrities elvis met. It 's in the jerry schilling interview

For instance, he said Elvis met brian wilson, from the beach boys and also eric clapton at the movies. He wasn't impressed at all by the beach boys craft, it seems. Ever heard of any other story about this ?

something else : i didn't read J Schlling's book, what do you think about it ? i have always had the feeling Jerry tended to be the most "politically correct" guy from the memphis mafia. which is both good and bad... 8)

Hi Lauren..

I Read Jerry's Book and enjoyed it. It's not a ''heavy'' Read like some other Books about Elvis but a nice look at Jerry's and Elvis' Friendship. Yes it may be looked on as being Politically Correct from EPE's point of view but that was the best part about it for Me...as I thought it was very truthful.

Two of the Highlights of the Book for Me was 1..the story of Elvis and Jerry getting Blind Drunk in a Casino and 2..the reason why Elvis went to Dallas along with Jerry...that bit was really sad to Me, but I think that trip showed Me that if Elvis had a ''special'' Friend out of the MM..it was in fact Jerry.

Jerry said He wrote the Book for Lisa Marie..and He did it in a Respectful way. Everyone should have a Jerry Schilling as their Friend.

thanks "little darling" for that input about JS book. i have heard about it but knowing jerry shilling statements through interviews i was skeptical.

Although it's good to confront various point of view, and reading Jerry's interview in RC i found this book musn't be wrong just because he is more positive than, say, other books from the memphis mafia members..

Lauren, welcome...!

I read the book a few months ago (from the library  ) and found it to be one of the best Elvis books I've ever read.
