So did you spot the error ?

Sun Feb 12, 2006 3:29 pm

Colin

Yes.

Sun Feb 12, 2006 7:16 pm

... but who's counting.

Wed Feb 15, 2006 2:15 pm

You miserable lot !

Nobody knew that it was One Night [and not Jailhouse Rock] that was the 1,000th UK No.1 ?

Call yourselves Elvis fans ?

Hang your heads in shame !

Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:19 pm

I and, I think, Torben were trying to make the point that we got it without giving away the punchline.

That's what my "... but who's counting. " was supposed to indicate. Clearly the article's writer and editor couldn't.

I guess I was a little too subtle. :D

Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:39 pm

elvissessions -

In these trivia-type quizzes, subtlety is not an option !

If you know the answer, you've got to shout it out loud and clear !

There are no kudos for hinting that you know it.

This one's going down as a Colin B victory !

[Goodness knows, there aren't many of them around]

Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:39 pm

Colin

What's your problem?

You gave an instruction. I did what you said.

You asked one question. I did answer that. Loud and clear.

There was no hinting involved on my side.

Obviously you wanted to have an answer to a question you didn't ask.

Thu Feb 16, 2006 12:53 am

My question was 'Did you spot the error ?'

It is implied within that question that, if you did, tell me what it was.

And no one came forward with that info.

The quiz compiler's decision is final on these matters, so there's no point in arguing further.

On second thoughts, perhaps I was being a little too hard there.

OK - The winner was Torben with a special mention for elvissessions !

Well, the final sales figure might have been higher.

The '21,262 copies' refers to the number sold to achieve the No.1 slot.

We don't know if that is for JHR which they quote or for One Night which was the actual 1,000th UK No.1 single !

Perhaps some CD singles sell for more than £3.99.

I don't know.

What was the point in dragging this old 'un up again ?
