I'm not aware of any rehearsal prior to the 1970 shows at the Astrodome. He'd just finished 57 shows at the International, after all.

But, given how hard Presley was working on his craft in early 1970, it's possible. One year later? No way.

Timeline:
2-23-1970 CS (Mon) - final show, Las Vegas
2-25-1970 (Wed) - arrives in Houston, gives a press conference (see below)
2-27-1970 AS (Fri) - first show, Houston

Elvis --> Everybody's Talkin' - Houston, February 25, 1970 !

I've never heard of that website,"Elvis Past.com".

Found a direct page link for the source of your question, although I have to alter it so it will display here (no idea why):
http://www.elvis--history.com/english/year1970/februar.htm

Just remove one of the hyphens and it works.

I now recall rock critic, historian and Presley biographer Peter Guralnick mentioning a Thursday rehearsal inside the Astrodome, and that was when Elvis discovered how much echo there was when you played there. So I would trust him on this point.

There are some mistakes on that February 1970 page. Notice it mentions a "brief" press conference on 2-25, and then another one on 2-27. This is wrong, there was just one in February, as linked in my previous reply. And the comments on 2-27 about "I can't bring it in ..." are not during the first show, but in the Astroworld Hotel afterwards.

No. But I am willing to bet his wife did not make the trip. There are no known photos, or remembrances from anyone who was with Elvis.
