Goldman hated Rock music and hated Elvis, his biography virtually gave Elvis no credit for anything he ever did.
His book was not just unbalanced-it was written for one purpose and that was to strip Elvis of any legitimacy not just as an artist-but human being.
There was no attempt at understanding, or compassion-but to solely discredit and humilitate someone that..... perhaps "secretly he envied"
