I bought these in an earlier incarnation 6 years ago. After all my constant use and terrible abuse (one time they were trapped in the metal of a recliner chair!), they lasted 6 years. My old Sonys had maybe a year in 'em if they were lucky. I immediately put the velour pads on them even though I was a bit late for an appointment. Sennheisers are a very serious matter!

How about yours, and what do you think of mine? Mine are the polar opposite of the newer fake bass-heavy ones. I fine-tune the presets in Power Amp to fit the environment.

I have a set of Harman Kardon earphones and those baby's sound great. I don't use the cans anymore although I do have a few. Bet yours sound really nice . :smt020

They do!

I don't use earbuds. Actually inserting music inside my ears is not comfortable to me. I want to keep my hearing. Losing music is not an option. When Sam Phillips yelled at Jerry Lee "YOU CAN SAVE SOULS!" with music, he stated a basic truth.

In some cases, earbuds can be better than headphones. In a noisy environment for example. Unless the headphones are noise cancelling then the danger is that the volume is turned up to compensate, where with the earbuds that you push inside the lugholes you do get a significant amount of isolation. Which means you can listen at a lower, and safer level.
