cd scratchings
I have one thats badly trashed but plays with a annoying digital scratch anyway to copy it without hearing that scratchy audio?

EAC worked wonders on a CD I bought from second hand flea market type thing that had some of the surface silver coating missing. I can't play it but I managed to copy it via EAC - try burst mode or secure mode and set it for uncompressed file. It took ages, I mean hours but just set it up, leave to it, then play it back on completion and see. Not exactly a scratch but I have a couple of Warner Brothers CD's that I couldn't rip to my pc, they played fine on my cd player but on the pc it sounded like too much gain on a guitar amp, full on fuzzed up sound. I turned to google and there was a tip I'd like to share. It said before you rip, randomly select tracks from the CD and play a few seconds of each on the cd drive. I thought it sounded like bull... corn. Naturally, I tried it anyway and Holy Poop, if the crazy idea didn't actually work! I was amazed and chuffed...

As long as the label side of the disc is not scratched, buffing the scratches out is always the best option. 0
