Is Tapatalk Eating Your Phone? Here's Help!

Until yesterday, I had 3 different versions of it: all the biggest apps. (Amazon MP3 player is next. And nothing else competes.)

This refers to the Jelly Bean Android operating system, and the related apps.

Several solvable problems, summarized.

1. Internal storage is gobbled up.
2. If you don't often clean out your five different browser and Tapatalk caches, you will think you deleted a post, or that someone else has, but in *at least one,* the horrifying mofo will be ALIVE! ALIVE! (In your cache.)

You don't want that to happen. You do NOT want that to happen! Be careful about hopscotching between Tapatalk, your browsers, and mobile view. Make a decision, and stick with it.

So.

1. Keep only 1 (one) version of Tapatalk on your device (Android). Delete all earlier versions. And keep your cache clean! "Application Manager" under "settings" Do NOT delete "data." Only "cache."

Choose the latest version of Tapatalk in the Jelly Bean application manager, and uninstall any others from there. That's also where you clean out your caches.

(Cleaning your cache is like . . . well, they do it a lot in Hollywood; trendy. It gets rid of the, uh, excess waste in the system.)

2. Also, if you use both "mobile style" in your browser(s) and normal web view, a deleted post may still appear in normal Web view, much to your horror, depending on why you erased it. :o Clean your browser(s)' caches frequently! Clean, clean, clean.

I do not believe Tapatalk can be moved to the external sd card. Too much data, and pointers to the data, and INDEXING! And it would be slow on an sd card. Such is life.

Important reminder.
When you get a new phone or tablet, get the largest internal memory available! Preferably 64 gigs internal, if available. You only need a 32 gig sd card for photos while on the road. (Most of the time, 16 will do just fine for an external sd card. Save your money. Your photos get saved, mostly to internal storage, unless you manually move them to the external sd card. Do that! But you won't need 64 gigs unless you shoot thousands of photos with your smart device.)

This is how to save your phone from being eaten alive, and with cache-cleaning, your honor -- and that of others! :D

Much obliged! Sometimes, something bad happens and you learn from it. A lotta weird stuff in the cache. LOL!
