Rega's RP1 tt is good value for money but it takes several tweaks to make improve the sound even further. I have worked with my RP1 for several years and switched a lot of the original parts for better quality. All photos show amazing setups, my dream is to once in life own the Yamaha A-3000NS in black.

Yes. It is really fantastic as many FTD titles , specially on the last 10/11 years of releases.
Also are great the Elvis Analogue Prs sacd releases , Ttwii Mfsl ,and more.
It is so much the quality that gives me now the cd format upsampled to dsd with DCS and the native sacd that I have dispensed formats vinyl and reel to reel because I get the same but with much greater cleanliness and perfection without losing any musicality.
Do you play high resolution media files? When I compared the SACD of “Elvis Is Back” (on a player no longer have) I found the high res files to be identical. So I invested in HD files rather than SACD.

I did not see any media server in your set up, hence the question....
In all sincerity, I had a for only a few weeks a bluesound node2 and I did tests tete a tete with my dcs p8i mk2 and my master clock dcs paganini. The difference was so huge in favor of the dcs team that I sold the bluesound node2 only days after the test.
Dcs the British brand is simply outstanding. It is a point and a part in quality. Both in cd and sacd.

That is interesting. I would have been tried taking a digital out from the Bluesound and pass it in to the CD player, and so out from there via the CD player. Then you would have the flexibility of using digital files via the CD player, possibly with no drop in sound quality.

Effectively. I did it and it was better than with the Bluesound direct to the amplifier. But even so it was inferior to a CD directly reproduced from the dcs. In my next attempt I will have to raise the server level much more and then it will be much better.
Bluesound node2 only is entrance level maybe.

Compared to the rest of your gear, yes the BlueSound node is entry level. However, as you would simple be sending a digital bitstream to another device it is hard to see how an improvement in this equipment will have any effect.
I can suggest the Marantz NA6005, it is excellent. Of course you are not restricted to purely audio devices, a NUC computer will also serve very well, but many in the audio world would baulk at introducing a PC in to the system.
NAD make some good next level devices, as does Sony (HAPs1).

Great info! Many thanks for your excellent information!
It could be that the problem was also that the files were sent from an external compact hard drive to Bluesound. You already know that the vibration and jitter is tremendous in an external hard drive type compact size WD. And although it did it with a small cable that was more expensive than Bluesound itself (an Audioquest Diamond usb), the influence of jitter and poor stability of the hard disk could influence the inferior quality.

I have the Rega planar 1, and I do agree it’s good value for money indeed. It works well with the old pioneer amplifier that I use, think it’s from the late 70s (bought it second hand a few years ago). The speakers I use are budget speakers but have amazingly good sound (at least in my opinion and to my ears), Dynavoice ( but can’t remember which model). I spend more money on the music than on the equipment.

This is why I use a NAS server, Synology DS216 play. Alternatively you could store the files on an SSD, this eliminates the issue as it has no moving parts and it is much faster than a spinning drive.
The best thing would be to use 2 SSD units in a NAS server. This would mean that the transfer medium would be the network cable, eliminating the USB cable. The 2 SSD’s would be in raid 0 config, so if one fails you just replace it and the data is duplicated back from the remaining drive.

A USB hard drive is probably the worst option for all the reasons you mentioned.

Really fascinating information and unknown to me. It's good to know and I'll keep it in mind.
Again, thank you very much. Fortunately I was able to get rid of the Bluesound Node2 and the Audioquest Diamond USB cable, and I simply thought that it had been a first approach to that extraordinary world.

Anyway, having a system as mine with two Dcs and some speakers like these Graham or an AAM amplification of this level of craftsmanship ... the only thing I really wanted is a high end blu ray player to read concerts of blu ray video and video dvd that does not exist in CD. And also the blu ray audio format that has passed with little success but that read by good hardware is wonderful.
I have tried many actual players and the 99% sound like plastic. I only have a good memory of the Denon bd 3800, the Nad m56 and the Oppo 105. Surely I will recover one of them for that kind of formats. In cd and sacd I confirm that it is nowadays impossible to overcome a sacd or a cd of Dcs.Maybe near are 4 or 5 brands in the world as Esoteric or Spectral.
I have been testing several times in the loft of a store with 500,000 eur systems and the non-physical format only approaches the physical with Dcs servers, Dcs Rossini Network Bridge, and only a few more at this level can exist.
