I Can't Help It - Hank Williams & Anita Carter

Wed Jun 04, 2014 9:17 pm

Over the past 6 months I have really been getting into Country & Western music and especially the great Hank Williams.

And I thought I would share this video for any C&W fans that are unaware of this wonderful duet of his 1951 B-Side he recorded on TV about 8 months before his death with supposedly the best of all the Carter Sisters, Anita.

The chemistry between the pair is mesmerising. The footage is unique in that you never really see Hank this way on stage but equally the effect he has on the young Anita who genuinely looks like she is in love with him. The innocence and manner about her seems a world away from today, a bygone time in US history that will never return and let's just relive this wonderful era and the splendid talents of Anita and Hank if only for one and a half minutes.

Yes here's a better quality video of "Cold, Cold Heart" (just a shame it's interrupted by the talking head). I actually enjoy this performance better than the studio master.

What an artist.

Unfortunately not!

Collecting Elvis damages my wallet enough.

One day though, one day.

Not seen this before. Looks nice...love those old radio's. That'll look gorgeous on your shelf.

I do have a 10 CD deluxe box set # The Complete Hank Williams -- Mercury Records-a polygram company 314 536 077-2. It has this GREAT photo on the front!

These are all great videos. I'm amazed at the lack of footage there is of Hank...
