I was talking about Nina Simone in the Jeff Buckley thread the other night. Although her live performances were often surreal and erratic in quality, her studio performances were uniformally excellent with the probably exception of Nina's Back in 1985. here are some of my favourite (and more accessible) Nina performances.
Everything Must Change. Probably my favourite. Recorded for the wonderful Baltimore album, which was released in 1977. There is also a wonderful live performance from London from the same year available on bootleg, but not yet on youtube.
Go Limp. One of Nina's most appealling performances available on DVD, showing her wonderful sense of humour.
Why The King of Love Is Dead. No introduction necessary, the song speaks for itself.

Good choices, there -- Simone was a sure talent; and what in incredible, pliable voice she had. Nina Simone Sings the Blues and Silk on Soul are two of my favourite albums of hers, and Sinnerman always grabs my attention.
