At the moment I´m very into The Mael brothers and Sparks. "Kimono my house" and "Propaganda" is two splendid albums if you like brilliant pop/rock with crazy and at the same time clever lyrics. Sparks is still going strong and "Hello young lovers" from 2006 is an album that I often return to.

One can suspect that Queen was influenced by the semi--operatic style of Sparks, especially Sparks´ early work from 1972-1974.

Kind regards

I find Sparks too zany. I do like a couple of their hits and "Looks, looks, looks" has got a sort of 1920's / 30's feel to it.
