Tough to narrow it down to 3. At the moment, I would probably go with: Ramble Tamble, Green River, Born On The Bayou.

Travelin Band Tombstone Shadow Lodi
By the way, does anybody hear the similarities between Travelin Band and Hard Headed Woman??
Also...tell me that Fogerty didn't get some of his sound from these guys:

It has elements of a number of 50s rock classics, but the vocal owes most to Little Richard.
Tough to pick just three, but I do really enjoy:
Lodi Fortunate Son Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
Proud Mary is perhaps as good as each of those, but I don't find myself as drawn to it.

Top Three (For Today): "Up Around The Bend" -- one of the coolest intros in rock history "Fortunate Son" -- inspired by David Eisenhower "Don't Look Now (It Ain't You or Me)" -- tribute to Elvis at Sun

I don't.
"Travelin' Band" is a 100% homage to Little Richard, right down to the sax solo played by John. It's a lot of "Long Tall Sally" crossed with a pinch of "Keep A-Knockin'."

He didn't.
Mickey Hawks (and Fogerty) pulls from the sound of the one and only Georgia Peach, Richard Penniman. Hawks, who played piano, also adored Jerry Lee Lewis.
And Fogerty's vocal style, as he might tell you himself, also owes a lot to the great Howlin' Wolf.

No doubt. My point was that..too my ears...Mickey Hawks and Fogerty's vocals sound incredibly similar. Anybody that was screaming was probably because of, as you pointed out, Little Richard and/or the Wolf!

You nailed it! To do a top five I would have added "Fortunate son" and "Sweet hitch-hiker".

Lookin' Out My Back Door

Actually, with the plethora of brilliant songs John Fogerty wrote, it isn't hard to come up with favorites, 'cause they were almost 100% instant classics, and have stood the test of time until today !
