Millie Kirkham, Ronnie McDowell, "There's Always Me" 2011

Very recent video, what a kick to hear Millie reprise her vocals some
50 years later.

I enjoyed the intro .... chatting about having a pre - song smoke, and
pretending to lower the key, thus allowing Millie to hit the high "C".

Interesting fact ... Millie turns 87 this year!

That was absolutely wonderful! Millie is amazing, she hits the notes with ease!

I found a clip of her doing "There's Always Me" with McDowell and the Jordanaires' Ray Walker, plus a neat interview:

Millie has worked with Elvis, Ferlin Husky, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Burl Ives, Johnny Cash, Perry Como, Little Richard, Tammy Wynette, Vic Damone, Sonny James, Patty Page, Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, and many more. She was a member of the Anita Kerr Singers, too.

I've seen the Crook and Chase interview, where Millie tells us she will be
87 in 2011. Great fun, everyone treats Miss Millie with love and reverence.

The Indescribably Blue clip was wonderful ... new to me.

I'm afraid to ask ... feel like I should already know ... who is singing lead on
the clip? His guitar intro is amazing!

Terry Mike Jeffery, always enjoyed him more than I ever did Ronnie McDowell. Here he is meeting Elvis!

Thanks, Julian.

I've never heard of Terry Mike Jeffrey.
Interesting to see he met Elvis in May of 1977.

That would be an interesting story.

Right on. I cannot stomach Ronnie McDowell's voice [man did he ruin the otherwise quite good 'Elvis The Movie'] - His vocals are the very antithesis of Elvis' - There is not one ounce of coolness, splendour, grace - call it what u will, in his voice. That he has made money off the back of Elvis is truly one of life's great mysteries...............

Millie is fantastic, but Ronnie overuse vibrato in my opinion. Not a pleasure for my ears.

McDowell won me over with his 1977 single "The King Is Gone." He's all right.
