August 25th 1973 - dinner show - Audience Recording with good sound (with a little minus)
The date of this show is not 100 % sure..the tape was dated..."August 1973".
But having compared with other setlists ..several merits of the show..
and with what is already available..this date seems most likely...I`d say over 90 %.
Seems like you nailed it. I'm 100% sure of that this is a Dinner Show and it's a very good possibility that the date is correct. :smt006

Yes..I, too think it`s a dinner show...and for the date..well..there just arenĀ“t many more mpossibilities..so I think we`ve nailed it quite well..I am not alone dating shows..we are a team..

A good show where you can hear Elvis starts to be more talkable, and fools around more than he did earlier this season. Elvis having fun with the band in the beginning of Blue Suede Shoes and gives us a slower version than usual. During the Rock Medley, Charlie Hodge it's seen with Long Tall Sally, and Elvis does a strong, cool start of Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On. He almost breaks out in laughter during Jailhouse Rock.
This time Elvis introduces Charlie Hodge after The Joe Guerico Orchestra. He also introduces Lisa Marie & Abe Lastfogel (President of William Morris Agency).

Another good show with a standard setlist, yet Elvis is in a very high drive here. He is going in to Blue Suede Shoes like he had the devil chasing him and does almost the whole first verse before he and the band stumbles and had to start all over. The Rock Medley, Johnny B. Goode and Teddy Bear/Don't Be Cruel gets the same treat, full speed ahead. A quite funny version of Fever followed by a strong, serious version of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Elvis changes the lyrics during Suspicious Minds to "Cause, Honey, you know I hate this song". Suspicious Minds and the Introduction Of The Band are incomplete tracks. Elvis dedicates Teddy Bear/Don't Be Cruel after the medley, and introduces her to the audience.

Good show with a very talkable Elvis. Elvis has 4 monologues that last about 1 min. each during this show. We get another funny version of Fever here. Elvis is also having a little fun with the beginning of Heartbreak Hotel. Elvis puts the kidding beside during the other songs. Elvis skips one verse of Long Tall Sally during the Rock Medley. My Boy is back on the setlist after being out since August 25th Midnight Show. Elvis introduces Lisa Marie after Johnny B. Goode.

August 28th 1973 - Midnight show - Audience recording with good sound
A good and funny show from our man here. Elvis is in good mood and very talkable. It's clear that Elvis begins to be tired and bored of the showroom for this season. Already after See See Rider, we can hear that Elvis is in a "foolin' around" mood. Like the Dinner Show, Elvis is skipping one verse of Long Tall Sally during the Rock Medley. After the Rock Medley Elvis' takes a very fast version of Love Me Tender before he does it a little more seriously.
Love Me Tender is followed by a nearly 4 min. version of Fever. After the Introduction Of The Band Elvis had a real hard time with My Boy. After the first try, Elvis sings a few lines of What A Friend We Have In Jesus (On the original Cd, this one is wrongly titled Take This Chain From My Heart, I really can't understand why, because TTCFMH has a totally different melody.......). Elvis starts with My Boy again without any success and sings Release Me (for God's sake) before he finally makes a good version of My Boy. Heartbreak Hotel is done by request, and Elvis dedicates The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face to Lisa Marie. The recording ends during Johnny B. Goode.

Elvis is in a great talkable mood again, and delivers a good show here. A really highlight here is that Elvis gives Bridge Over Troubled Water an almost complete reprise.

August 30th 1973 - dinner show - Audience Recording with very good sound

Another favorite show of mine from this season. Elvis is in a very show mood here and you can't help but love the show. The fun talk and the performances of the songs is perfect.
The show starts out as usual and Elvis gives us a long, enjoyable version of I Got A Woman/Amen. After a great version of You Gave Me A Mountain, Elvis isn't satisfied with the microphone and discuss with Bill Porter about his "Old Mike". When Elvis wants "to do a medley of one of my records" he changes the lyrics in Trouble to "If you looking for trouble, just look right into the engineers face" and "I don't like this microphone and no kind of man".
He is going from Trouble to a great Rock Medley where he sings "I saw Charlie Hodge with J.D. Sumner". This is a really "good time" medley with much laughter.
After doing Fever Elvis lets the audience choose between What Now My Love and Bridge Over Troubled Water. The choice fells on BOTW, Elvis talks and jokes during the piano intro of the song, but when he starts he really gives his best. A good version of Suspicious Minds follows with some new lyrics. Even the Introduction Of The Band is special here.
Elvis introduces Alvis Alan Owens as "Buck Owens jr." after the band introductions. He also introduces Lisa Marie + Red & Sonny West during the show. At the end of the show Elvis does Heartbreak Hotel, Johnny B. Goode and How Great Thou Art (incl. reprise). This show is a must for Elvis concert lovers.

Well known good show with good sound. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and How Great Thou Art is incomplete.
An Audience Recording with complete versions of these songs does excists (don't been able to track them down :( ).
I think Elvis does a good show and got the best out of the setlist. His comments after Fever is cool (...song is fun to do, cause I can always get my breakfast down...). Here we can hear "I hate the song" version of Suspicious Minds in good sound. Elvis introduces Charlton Heston after the Introduction Of The Band, and includes a fun story from Hollywood. Elvis dedicates The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face to Lisa Marie.

Good show where Elvis talks a little more again. A little highlight in this show is that Elvis breaks up the standard setlist a little. It makes the show a little more interesting for us concert collectors. An example is that Elvis does Release Me early in the show (after Love Me) and Love Me Tender after the Introduction Of The Band. Elvis sings some requested songs in the last part of the show. The Rock Medley has some start "problems".
It excist two sources of this show, one complete and one incomplete.

Right,..the other source is complete but runs too fast..the incomplete source has the right speed
and sounds terrific..

How the sound otherwise on the complete source? I haven't heard the complete source, so I'm curious about it.

Good show with an energic Elvis, so you can really feel the energy in The Rock Medley and even Hound Dog got it's own drive here. The ballads are all high quality performances including Bridge Over Troubled Water with reprise.
A really highlight for this show must be Make The World Go Away, always beautiful and rarely sung in shows after 1970. Elvis talks a little more during this show than earlier in this Vegas season.

It's a good possibility that Elvis met the delegation from the Japanese fanclub just prior this show, since he after the band introduction says hello to the Japanese fans* (and fans from other countries too).

*The track on the cd Word For Word vol. 2 "Meeting Japanese Fans" which is only dated August 1973
