August 11th 1973 - Midnight show - Audience Recording with good sound
(There's also a sound booth recording of this show which ends during Bridge Over Troubled Water)

A great top artist does a great show here. The only "rush" is The Rock Medley, good version, but a little short in my opinion. The highlights for show listeners here is that Elvis doing a slow version of Tiger Man after the medley of Mystery Train/Tiger Man, and a beautiful rendition of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face which Elvis dedicates to Dee Presley.
Charlie Hodge is introduced only as Marino during the Introduction Of The Band. Elvis also mentions that a member of Joe Guercio's Orchestra, Emilio, has birthday this day.
Estelle Brown of The Sweet Inspirations became a part of The Rock Medley this night during Long Tall Sally (I saw Estelle, with bald headed Sally....). Usually is J.D. Sumner and Charlie Hodge who is the "victims" here . Joe Guerico has also been a target. Can't Help Falling In Love and Closing Riff was not recorded. Shirley MacLaine attended this midnight show.

August 12th 1973 - Midnight show - Audience Recording with good sound

I guess this show is well known by concert fans because it's the only 1973 show we've got with Elvis doin' Crying Time. It's also the most complete version we got of this song. It's a good show with some variations from the standard setlist. Elvis takes the last part of this show with requests from the fans and does some highlights by doing Help Me Make It Through The Night, Heartbreak Hotel and What Now My Love.
When Elvis talks with the audience about songs after singing Heartbreak Hotel, the band plays the intro of Young Love. Elvis also sings a line of I Just Can't Help Believin'. When What Now My Love comes up, it sounds like Elvis does the title What Now My Love in Guadalajara style before he sings What Now My Love.
The guitar intro of An American Trilogy can also be heard after Bridge Over Troubled Water. It's also the first show of this Las Vegas season that Elvis starts foolin' around while singing Suspicious Minds (changing the lyrics). The Band Introduction is incomplete on this recording. A few seconds of Can't Help Falling In Love is also missing.
Elvis introduces an actor after The Band Introduction, I haven't be able to find out who it is, Mark Connery?? Hope someone here knows who this is.

Another good show with a standard setlist for this Vegas season. A great highlight in this show is that instead of the usual I Got A Woman/Amen, Elvis gives us a very beautiful and complete verse of Amazing Grace in this medley. How Great Thou Art is always a highlight, and rarely performed so far this season. Elvis introduces Priscilla before he dedicates Release Me to her.................
The Band Introduction is incomplete and the last part of the show is missing.

Good show with no special surprises. Glen D. Hardin is the guy who has been "seen with bald headed Sally" during The Rock Medley this time . It's also the last for this Vegas season that Hound Dog is not included in The Rock Medley. During The Introduction Of The Band, Charlie Hodge is introduced with a different name. I haven't been able to understand what Elvis calls him, because of the quality of this recording. If anyone knows what Elvis are calling him here, please let me now. Suspicious Minds is incomplete on this recording.

Again a good show from Elvis. It's a very standard setlist with Elvis doing what he does best, entertaining people. The audience put out some requests after the band intros, but Elvis wants to sing My Boy (like usual).
Elvis talks a little more here, and does a hilarious Introduction Of The Band. Help Me Make It Through The Night is one of my favorites here.

A good, but short show with standard setlist. Elvis talks very little during the show, and The Band Introduction is also very straight forward. Elvis skips a verse of Long Tall Sally during The Rock Medley.
It's two different audience recordings of this show. One source is complete and with bad to fair sound, on the other My Boy is missing and runs about 8% to 10% too fast. I took a speed correction and a little remixing for this version.
My Boy, however, is from the complete source (thanks, Cisco ).

You can hear Elvis is really enjoying doing this show. No surprises in the setlist, with an entertainer who don't want to talk so much and got no time to fool around. It maybe sounds a little boring, but I think the way Elvis does the songs here, really make this show worth a spin. Bob Hope attended this midnight show.

Elvis doing a good, but a little short show here with no talking. My Boy is replaced by The First Time Ever I saw Your Face after The Band Introduction. Elvis dedicates this song to "Sandi, Gilbert, Mary-Ann, entertainers and the crew from Jazzville Authority and Dee". Except from Dee, I haven't been able to find any information about these people, so if someone knows, let us in the forum know. Sandi could be Sandi Miller??

LOL.............I know you can't quit You can't even quit if you try, because if you do, you're losing a big part of your life. If I should try to do so, I guess I would have an emotionally TOTAL breakdown. Shakin', not sleeping and going to be the most grumpy, annoying, aggressive old man in the world in a few weeks........

August 25th 1973 - dinner show - Audience Recording with good sound (with a little minus)

This recently released show is a good show, but it seems to me that Elvis is a little tired, and don't want to get to seriously during the show. He talks a little more and gets some new lyrics when he's doing Don't Be Cruel.
It's the first time we hear Elvis expresses his feelings about singing Suspicious Minds. Bridge Over Troubled Water also gets a kind of heavy start where Elvis Talks.
It's looks like Elvis thinking of ending the show after A Big Hunk Of Love, but changes his mind. Heartbreak Hotel and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is incomplete on this recording.

A strong vocally performance with a Presley in very good mood where he is foolin' around a little with the band and the audience. Elvis does an execeptional version of Steamroller Blues here which gives me a real thrill, and when he comes to the Rock Medley, Elvis gets some real "trouble" when his losing his belt. He breaks out in laughter and it's really enjoyable to listen to. Charlie Hodge it's the target of Long Tall Sally here and this Rock Medley rocks. Love Me Tender and Fever is also a very enjoyable. Suspicious Minds gets some new lyrics, unfortunately, the song is incomplete. The introduction of Charlie Hodge is also incomplete. Elvis dedicates The First Time Ever I Saw Your face to Dee and Vernon.
Elvis does very good versions of the strong songs (What Now My Love, My Boy, Bridge Over Troubled Water), but a rather fun version of An American Trilogy. The rare highlight here is It's A Matter Of Time...plain and beautiful.
This is with no doubt one of my favorite shows from this season.

The date of this show is not 100 % sure..the tape was dated..."August 1973".
But having compared with other setlists ..several merits of the show..
and with what is already available..this date seems most likely...I`d say over 90 %.

August 25th 1973 - Midnight show - Audience recording with good+ sound

A strong vocally performance with a Presley in very good mood where he is foolin' around a little with the band and the audience. Elvis does an execeptional version of Steamroller Blues here which gives me a real thrill, and when he comes to the Rock Medley, Elvis gets some real "trouble" when his losing his belt. He breaks out in laughter and it's really enjoyable to listen to. Charlie Hodge it's the target of Long Tall Sally here and this Rock Medley rocks. Love Me Tender and Fever is also a very enjoyable. Suspicious Minds gets some new lyrics, unfortunately, the song is incomplete. The introduction of Charlie Hodge is also incomplete. Elvis dedicates The First Time Ever I Saw Your face to Dee and Vernon.
Elvis does very good versions of the strong songs (What Now My Love, My Boy, Bridge Over Troubled Water), but a rather fun version of An American Trilogy. The rare highlight here is It's A Matter Of Time...plain and beautiful.
This is with no doubt one of my favorite shows from this season.

Another good show with a standard setlist for this Vegas season. A great highlight in this show is that instead of the usual I Got A Woman/Amen, Elvis gives us a very beautiful and complete verse of Amazing Grace in this medley. How Great Thou Art is always a highlight, and rarely performed so far this season. Elvis introduces Priscilla before he dedicates Release Me to her.................
The Band Introduction is incomplete and the last part of the show is missing.

Enjoyable show with good variation of a standard setlist of songs. Elvis is having a good time on stage, and does a very good performance. Even Suspicious Minds almost got it's origin lyrics .......... Elvis dedicates Teddy Bear/Don't Be Cruel to Lisa Marie after the Introduction Of The Band. Don't Be Cruel goes in a high tempo, so Elvis changes the lyrics to "Please lets forget the past, the song is to darn fast.........." . The Announcement in the end is incomplete.

You just have to love this show. Elvis is in very good mood, and the songs is very well performed with the power and energy that only Elvis can give them. Ronnie Tutt is the "victim" of Long Tall Sally, and the show is filled with laughter. Elvis almost losing it totally during Suspicious Minds , and it's really enjoyable listening to him. He also has a joke on Ed Sullivan during Fever, and How Great Thou Art is always impressive. Elvis dedicates The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face to Linda Thompson.
